I’m looking into picking up i4 as a daily/secondary car with occasional track days and canyon/spirited runs.
Dealers here in Saudi Arabia (KSA) currently have a 15% VAT discount, which makes the pricing really attractive.
My main concern is thermal management. I’m coming from an S550 Mustang (10-speed) with full cooling upgrades that *still* couldn't handle track temperatures over here. I won't be tracking the i4 above 30°C, but I’m worried about heat soak and power throttling.
Does a pre-2026 i4 (without the updated 2026 cooling loop/hardware) suffer from thermal derating on track or during hard driving in hot weather? I really want to avoid repeating my Mustang experience. Appreciate any feedback from owners in hot climates or those who track their i4!
