My Specs:
Emira V6
Hello! This is my first post. I own a manual Emira V6 FE in Nimbus Grey. Thank you for all the information available on this forum. I have to store my car for the winter in a garage where it's mandatory to disconnect the battery for insurance reasons. I plan to fully charge it the night before and disconnect it for 5 months. My first question concerns the disconnection procedure: the connector is quite different from what I'm used to! My second question is: is there any risk to the car during this operation? Do you have any advice for doing it now and in the spring to ensure optimal performance? Thank you in advance for your help!

Undo the battery cover in the boot. Two nuts and you have to pull the cover out from underneath the carpet at the bottom. Then as @ReadT states just untighten the negative terminal with a size 10 spanner and pull the terminal off the battery. Secure it somewhere safe so it can't short. The positive terminal may be easier to reach - this is very similar but has a few "wedge" pieces to close the terminal then the terminal and whole connector assembly lifts off the battery (there's a couple of plastic covers that pop open to get access to the terminal).

Do you have access to a plug at the storage location? If so, disconnect the negative and attach a trickle charger. Otherwise, remove it from the car and put it on a trickle charger at home.
