My Specs:
Emira I4
This is more aimed at the British contingent, but looking for your opinion as I can't decide -clearly, this is very subjective. As a Scot living in the US, I'm toying with adding one of the following license plates, but not sure if they detract from the Emira's super-clean look? Chat GPT mocked my framed track picture with the Union Jack, Saltire, St Andrew's Cross, and as is. Adding my Jim Clark picture for fun.

TBH, I prefer the car with no plate, I envy those in the US that can do this. I like Geoff Blands solution to the problem, but no idea if that is actually legal, or just something he is getting away with for the moment
If you feel you must go with something, I would look to do something a lot smaller than those you have shown. Which you go for would be a personal choice.

If you had to choose I actually like all three...St Andrew's probably but that is totally subjective. I say choose one with the most meaning for you. The non-helpful comment from me is I have not run a front plate on any car I have owned in Los Angeles for 20+ years and never had an issue but...again that's not really helpful lol.

I live in NY and front plates are required. I have never had a front plate on any specialty car I’ve owned. I have the front plate in the car just in case I get pulled over but has not happened. Yet. I do have a GRP bracket just in case. Front plates in any mount/form will not do the Lotus nose justice.

Hello mate, I think your flag looks great on the car, maybe make it a bit smaller though as it covers the front vent?

My vote, for what it's worth, is to have nothing. The Emira lines for the most part, are smooth/clean/simple...so having nothing on the front IMO maintains that "theme/look". But your car so your decision and since it's all a matter of personal taste, there is no wrong decision.

If front plates are required in your state/jurisdiction, then I wonder if law enforcement is more likely to ignore no front plate (i.e. mere omission or neglect) compared to replacement with a banner (i.e. an intent to conceal or defiance). Would the banner attract more scrutiny because it clearly says that "I could have mounted the proper license plate, but I won't"?
