E5 or E10?

The car was calibrated to run on E10 95RON.

Australian cars in particular used to run worse on E5, stalling after a cold start. I think that's been patched, though.
If that were the case I find it strange that in the handbook Lotus specifically say "Use only high quality ULNEADED fuel with a minimum Octane rating of 95RON" (which is located next to an E10 icon)
and then says "Lotus recommends the use of 97 RON unleaded fuel where available" (located next to an E5 icon.)

To me this says that the car can be run on 95 but infers that it should be run on 97.

I must admit, I've been tempted to fill up with 95RON when (for example) motorway driving to/from the Isle of Man and 97+ whilst on the IOM.

Jesus lotus people are so fing dramatic! I ran E85 for years on my Toyota turbo Elise for 2 decades. No issue! I run E20 on my JB4 4 now for the Emira. Its just fine. a little extra octane and a little cooling effect. You can run about 30% with no issure. Yes I know ive done it and not just pontificating
