Driving shoes

I’ve had my Emira for about 3 months now and I love it.

I haven’t owned a manual in 12 years so I no longer have my old driving shoes.
I’m not an expert in heel-toe but I’m trying to get better. I’m not planning on tracking the car.

I’ve been mostly wearing some leather sneakers but I don’t love them because the sole is studded.

What is your preferred shoe with the Emira?

Any opinions about the following types of shoes:
- indoor soccer shoes
- boxing or wrestling shoes
- “barefoot” shoes (Xero, Vivo)
- Piloti driving shoes
- Puma speedcats or other Pumas

I'm considering the PIloti Shift model. Is there any store to try on Pilotis? Or is it all online? Do they tend to run big, small or true to size?

I just bought a pair of Shifts. Got the charcoal so I could try their wide version. Must say that I didn't really need it. They seem to be true to euro sizing (all my cycling and moto shoes/boots) are 43 and that's what I ended up with from Piloti. I'm inclined to buy another color/style now since I'm not restricted to the wides. Decent sale going on for some models/colors.

I have Speedcats for my track NB Miata, and I'll probably use them for the Emira as well when doing any long or aggressive driving.

I always like to use Sperry boat shoes for driving manual cars. Sperry driving shoes might be good as well.

Possibly not the right place but does anyone want to buy a pair of these. Literally still in the box. Ordered wrong size and too much hassle to return as they were from Italy. In this colour combo, they're difficult to come by...

Piloti size 14 (US) (48 European) here. It is a problem to have too large feet when driving a sportscar, especially when you live in Japan

I drove lots of manual cars with clutch, including three Mazda RX-7, receiving driving lessons from Japanese Le Mans drivers Yorino and Terada. But this time around I chose the Emira Turbo with AMG engine and DCT gearbox. Luckily most of the early «snags» have now been corrected by software updates.

And the issue with too large feet is still there even with two pedals only

I bet 14 is not easy to find in Japan

Those look attractive, but for me, I want a very thin soled shoe for driving and these look like your standard classic sneaker.

I do mountain bike, playing tennis, hiking, paddle boarding, driving and many outdoor activitie. Single purpose shoes keep growing. But I am trying to use shoes for multiple purposes to keep the number in check. Shifted X looks really great but not sure will be in my shoes storage. Thx for the information tho.
