Lotos of Dallas aka Earth Motors has always been above market on price. Tried to buy an Evora GT from them for a year. When they finally agreed to my price (a year later) I was moving to Vegas and didn't want the hassle of moving a 3rd car, so I declined. They would rather let a car sit for a year than lower the price a couple thousand.OK, I purchased my Emira and learned a lot about the market conditions.
Most dealers are still trying to hold on the glory days of Covid and pushing hard for MSRP. I was successful in finding a local dealer who would give $1500.00 off an inbound car, and of course Lotus of Jacksonville was advertising $2500.00 off their cars, many of which were sold.
Spoke with Lotus of Dallas today and they said no to an offer of $103k on a $108k MSRP in stock car. Could have likely purchased their car for around $105k or a $3k discount.
Here’s where I landed. A local dealer had a pre owned 2024 FE with a $109,150.00 MSRP. Car is essentially brand new and has around $5,000 worth of PPF and ceramic coating applied. Called the detail shop and they transferred the PPF warranty into my name. Dealership was asking $97k for the car. I offered $92k and they accepted immediately, claiming they traded the car for $87k.
So, $17,150.00 off the original window sticker plus the PPF and ceramic at N/C. If I built the same car now, with options and latest pricing it would be a $114k sticker price.
Pickup is this Saturday. I am feeling pretty good about where this landed.
