I read the article. Based on Elise and Exige. I am just have to admit I called myself a car enthusiast but really knew nothing about Lotus before the Emira came out last year. It's just a very cool company doing very interesting projects in the car world. Gotta have one.

Yes, it's "completely based on an Elise chassis," except there are MAJOR changes (or outright swaps) to the body, chassis, suspension, engine, transmission, instrumentation, brakes, and just about everything else.

I bet it used stock Elise doors and windshield and headlights though.
