Anyone done a 3rd to 1st by accident

I did this the other day, as gearbox was very notchy for some reason, and it came up with a bar coming up from the centre outwards, at the top of the dash, just under the rev counter. I wasn't even aware it was even there.
Anyway, I don't know what the damage would of been, as I just caught it (I hope) seems to be driving fine. It does seem easily done as the gears are close together.

Are you saying you meant to select 3rd and selected 1st (you were traveling in 2nd gear, high RPMs), or that you shifted from 3rd to 1st accidentally (traveling in 3rd gear, but RPMs unclear)?

The latter probably wouldn't damage the engine if you were just cruising around at like 2-3k RPM in 3rd gear and briefly had 1st gear in.... but the former, if you were upper revs 2nd and went to 1st, I would be worried.

I'm not sure exactly as panic set in, I was quick enough that I didn't let the clutch fully up. I was pulling out from a roundabout at the time, with fairly high revs, but nowhere near the limiter.

Can you explain what specific parameter(s) the ECU stores? Is it just max RPM?

The data in the V6 cars is endless I would assume it will be similar in the Emira when we can eventually get at it.

We have The top 5 Revs reached
Top 5 coolant temps
Standing starts
Highest G loading
Total engine runtime
Total KM covered
Theres a lot more than that but thats the basics
