Here's a little challenge. Can anyone beat my list of issues since acquiring my Emira in April 2023;

Power Steering pump failed
Windscreen Wipers stuck in intermittent setting
Front Parking sensors trigger randomly every time it rains
Paintwork unacceptable orange peel (and I mean, really bad, so that even Lotus' head of paintwork agrees it should never have left the factory in that condition)
Front bumper stress crack
Boot seal failed
Front clam rusty bolts/washers
Reverse gear unselectable when hot
HVAC fan failure
Front brake pads cracked
Hill hold failure
Apple Carplay connection failure
Driver's seat head-rest trim fell out
Creaking window/door seals
Creaking passenger seat
Lambda sensor failure
Engine & gearbox alloy excessive corrosion
Both doors paintwork bubbling (moisture in/under gel goat)
All the usual recalls (brake line banjo, A pillar restraint, Software updates etc etc)

Hats off to my local Lotus Service Centre for having gone into bat for me and slowly but surely getting all of these issues resolved. The operable word here being slowly, but that is not their fault.

Aren’t there laws in your country that allow you to return the vehicle for refund or replacement?

I can confirm you are the unluckiest Emira owner ever. 😳

Surely this vehicle should have been replaced

But, at least he has an Emira to be unlucky with. I get to sit over here in the US and be jealous of his misfortune.
Ive had mine for 8 months now had a couple of very minor issues and I must say what a car.

You guys in the US have a lot to look forward too, im sure you will get a better version of the car with a lot of the early bugs diminished.

My was build in July 2023 and has only one issue with the fan, which was fixed by exchange the fan relay. I am so happy to have no issues, finger crossed for the future…

Sorry to hear you've had so many problems - you must be the unluckiest Emira owner for sure.

Please tell me your name isn't Alf ?

I can relate... keep holding on, it's worth the ride :ROFLMAO:

Please keep us informed of any travel plans. I don’t want to be on the same plane as you right now!

Sounds like Lotus owes you big for your patience that goes well beyond what is reasonable.

I think you are the winner for the unluckiest owner. I had heart palpitations after the first 4 items on your list. Yes, I believe Lotus should take that car back and give you a new one. That list is unbelievable. I'm sorry that your Lotus dream has been tarnished

That's a decent list!

So far in the first 1000km I have:

*Stress cracks in front bumper (Yet to raise this)
*Sagging drivers side sun visor (Replaced under warranty)
*Power Steering pump failure (Replaced under warranty)
*Car won't start 30% of the time due to software issue (waiting for latest update next Friday)
*Windscreen wiper stuck in intermittent (Replaced under recall)
*A-pillars missing airbag retainer clip so may become a projectile if airbags deploy (Replaced under recall)
*Steabealts lock too sensitive (Replaced under recall)
*Horrendous rattling in dash (Yet to raise this)
*Car won't go into reverse when hot (Apparently normal)
*Apple carplay wont connect 50% of the time (Apparently normal)
*No audio with Apple Carplay (New problem since most recent update)

So far dealership has been good to me as well.

So I’m curious….if the Emiras arrived in the U.S. and are awaiting CARB, is LOTUS going to send cargo ships full of parts as well to have available here when the $hit hits the fan? Or will they only be supplying (with lengthy wait times) as the issues get reported? Gonna have to watch this space, but that is ONE HELL OF PUNCHLIST of issues reported!!

I’m in Australia and in my case parts have been on hand for all the recall stuff and the power steering pump. Other stuff has had to be ordered.

I forgot to mention I also had a broken sun visor that was sagging, and that took over 4 months to get the part.

I'm curious if the cars that have been sitting around waiting will get the software update prior to delivery 🤔
