To me, the still spotty and fluid dealer 'network' remains not only Lotus' biggest barrier to growth in the US, but also diminishes resale: both in fact and in value.

Some 1/32 scale slot cars. 3 Emira GT4s and a few “street” cars. The street cars were built to run on a layout set up at the LOG held a couple years ago in Wesr Virginia. Didn’t finish them to a high level because I rightfully figured they’d get some rough treatment.

You’ll almost always do better shopping rates yourself. The dealer/salesperson has almost zero incentive to do so, and often have arrangements with specific insurance sources where referrals are compensated.

My guess…and it’s just that, is that for anyone who drops out that FE spot will go for the new price. Even for early deposit holders offered the chance to move up l It won’t be at the early price.

It’s a different company now, but when I bought my first Elise new, if someone ahead of me dropped out, my dealer and at least two others I knew of at the time, saw those slots as theirs and if nobo on the list wanted to pay a premium to move up, they’d sell it to someone who was never on the list.

Had a Chrysler Crossfire with zero issues. Had a Solstice Coupe (rarer than Exiges) zero problems. Come to think of it, bought 2 Elises and an Exige new with zero problems.

That was a common practice in the States when the Elise first arrived here.
