How to adjust rear bumper ?

That part of the bumper is just clipped in, no bolts. If you can get something behind it, even your fingers, it might pop out into place.

Key is locked in the car

It’s all in the handbook. Also, opening the drivers door turns on the car but opening the passenger door doesn’t, which might help save battery if you’re not going to drive the car.

    Screenwash bottle lid

Got rid of some of the uglyness of the screenwash cap: Cut off the excess and worked through the sandpaper grades to get an acceptable finish. I know there are billet covers available but they only make the cap even bigger. Such a utilitarian thing should really be hidden away under a cover...

    Puddle/Footwell lights

Noticed that the footwell lights are the same fitting as the puddle lights so… Can’t decide if it’s the best or worst mod I’ve ever done! I had already done the puddle lights: The rear headlining, glovebox and boot lights are also the same fitting, so we could have fancy leds to...

    Speedometer, Off?

It’s to account for tyre wear iirc. A tyre with typical 8mm tread will have about 2.5% less circumference when it’s bald than when it’s new. So it will be spinning faster at any given real (gps) speed and the car’s speedo will read higher.

emira steering wheel button group buy

Snap! Also ordered on the 20th and received today. I did query with the seller about the “second hand” change on the listing. They said they were sending me new ones and they do look perfect. Couple of additional fitting tips: If you have the service notes, ignore them. Do not remove the...

    DIY: Floating Console Modification

Installed the auto tray today. Some learnings if it helps anyone. I wanted to try to make the cutout as neat as possible. I know it’s hidden by the rubber liner but why not… Used a Dremel freehand with a plastic cutting bit. There’s no need to cut out for the lower bolts. They sit under the...

emira steering wheel button group buy

The OP’s plan didn’t survive the encounter with reality. If @GRP and @Aerie (who were able to source these previously) couldn’t get them (even before the tariff situation), then the entire world’s supply has been hoovered up already. Now, with the tariff nonsense, it would seem that those of...

    UK configurator has updated

This seems to me to be a mistake. The V6 First Edition was £84k list (iirc) before this update. To go to £92k for a base edition without the FE options is madness. £72k would make more sense. But, it is Lotus so 🤷‍♂️ All those low-mileage orphaned cars will suddenly be very attractive if that’s...

What did you do to your Emira today?

The hardest bit of the install is deciding wether to have them in line with the open door or the car.

Exactly. Take out the 4 bolts holding the shifter to the tunnel, lift it up and slide the cover under.

It’s actually stainless steel not aluminium. You can see the marks where it’s been bent into shape. If it been an aluminium extrusion it might not have bothered me as much. Edit: Ignore me. It is aluminium. I was looking at a photo of my old Evora’s setup where the tunnel is steel (with rivnuts!).

    DIY: Floating Console Modification

Nah, it’s no problem. Potentially the black plastic part could be separated to give a bit more space but it’s not really necessary. Just need to ensure the plastic sheet goes around the rivnuts or the assembly will clamp it and not go back down properly. It was partly to cover the tunnel that I...

    DIY: Floating Console Modification

I’ve taken this a little step further. Didn’t like the exposed unfinished aluminium tunnel that gets revealed when the cage is removed (or the unused rivnuts). This bit: There are also gaps between the console sides and this tunnel that stuff could conceivably fall into. So, came up with...

    Integrated SatNav v Google Maps

If you’re talking about CarPlay (don’t know about Android Auto), only Apple Maps turn-by-turn directions appear on the RHS of the dash. Waze/Google don’t (or didn’t last time I tried). Guessing it’s a CarPlay integration thing, as Apple don’t own Waze/Google Maps (and don’t want to make them...

    DIY: Floating Console Modification

I’ve also done it slightly differently (until I can get the 3D printing sorted). Left the gaiter on: It’s an Alcantara one from Hide and Seam so still looks OK. Polished up the moustache a bit, but deliberately not to a mirror. Did that on my old Exige and when mirrored it just reflects all...
