Aside from the US' China EV tariffs, the problem with a Lotus EV is they were trying to go too far upmarket too quickly. They tried to be Porsche before building up the brand enough. I wonder if they could just focus on selling simpler, FUN cars (EV included) and not focus as much on luxury...

I had this same error pop up up yesterday, left turn signal error. Left turn signal was on as I waited at a light, I accelerated enough to probably trigger the traction control at a mild level, and then I got the error.

I recall he had some disputes with Scotland over wind turbines near one of his golf courses. So I would suspect the UK would be high on his list for tariffs.

I would expect such a tariff to be passed along to the consumer, yes. Companies can and do choose to eat that cost themselves rather than raise prices in some cases, but I don't think Lotus is in a financial position to do so.

That cost is very similar to what my dealer quoted, though they also gave me an option for a different film material at about twice that cost. So materials really do matter here.

My I4 was on a December boat, and just now arrived at the dealer in Denver. Need PPF done before I can pick it up, then it'll be a matter of watching the weather for a window to go get it! I might have to opt for enclosed transport, we'll see. It'd be a fun drive home if the roads are clear.

There's a lot of uncertainty right now about tariffs in the US. While the UK hasn't been a target so far, I do wonder if China-owned companies with production outside of China may be targeted at some point (to prevent them from getting around tariffs by just shifting manufacturing). Or if...

It's true the US does not require this feature, but note that it WILL be required on all new cars starting in September 2029. Though with our current political chaos, any laws are subject to change on short notice...

The debate over which will hold its value better, manual or DCT, will be an interesting one to watch over the coming years. I opted for the DCT I4 for a few reasons...it's the lightest, fastest of the FE Emiras (plus, I'm at the point in my life where I wanted more of a GT car than my Elise)...

I'm new to this forum, have ordered an Emira I4 and Curtis tells me it's on the water...maybe due late Jan or early Feb. I'm also the original owner of an '05 Elise which I'll be putting up for sale this spring to help make room in the garage.
