    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Not that I want to put more worries in anyone, but I cannot help but think that after all this waiting (and still another 6-8 months to go), Lotus will ship all the NA cars, and with our luck the ship will sink due to an unprecedented Atlantic storm  I swear I am actually a very...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Some of the comments from @Hapkin are really interesting, I think the details of his drive are similar to mine, although he is able to better describe them. I truly enjoyed and still miss two cars from the past: The E46 M3 and the 997.2 GT3. Strictly looking at the spec sheet of the Emira when...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

After my first test drive, which I had enjoyed tremendously a week ago, I came to recognize that it was a bit of a blur. It was an introduction to the Emira, but not necessarily an understanding of the car. Not to mention that it was pouring rain that day. So, I asked for another chance to...

Lotus of Washington, DC cancels driving event

I believe that car actually has the sport suspension.

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

The one I tested had the sport suspension. I was fine with it, I would not call it harsh at all. I haven't had the chance to drive one with the Tour suspension, but if I were to speculate that you would take the car to the track on an occasional basis for non-competitive events, I cannot think...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

I always had a single car at any given time, the rest belongs to other family members. So, whatever I bought had to pull daily duties, capable enough at the track, and invite me to drive the back roads from time to time. Clearly, I forgot how much joy driving has given me Over the last few...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Sure. I am going to babble a bit, but I'll try my best to describe it. The car is a pre-prod model, and has the sport suspension with Cup2 tires. And as my luck would have it, it was pouring rain. I drove it for about 20 mins through side roads and on the interstate. The wipers worked just...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

Well... WOW!!! I came back from my test drive. First time seeing, touching, or talking to it. Umm..., yeah! Woww! I am not sure how I can best articulate what I felt driving it and what I feel now. Admittedly, I had many expectations reading the reviews, these forums, etc. I was also sure...

Another 718 GT4 vs. Emira Test Drive

One thing I'd like to note, although it won't change your conclusion, is that money does not solve the problems alone. It is well known in the manufacturing industry that if there is a new factory, and new workers who need to be trained and have the time for them to gain experience, the...

What's everyone's placeholder given this long wait??

I know I am going to go off-topic here, but... I grew up in the 80s, and my perspective has been heavily influenced by WRC and F1. In the 90s, sportscar racing became more influential I think, particularly when FIA killed Group B in WRC (for good reasons of course). The pictures I have been...

What's everyone's placeholder given this long wait??

Much better than I expected, even in tight autox courses. The suspension is superb, rear-wheel steering is hugely beneficial. On track, the issue is the brakes, not up to par for lapping for 30 mins; however, the RS version (mine is not) has the carbide brakes, which solves the problem.

What's everyone's placeholder given this long wait??

Not comparable to the Emira in any way, but I am having a great time with this placeholder, and staying very hopeful about the future of sports EVs:

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

I would imagine it will be or should be the case as @Lotustoronto describes. The dealership network is so sparse, each one covers a relatively large potential market. I would guess that if a dealership turns down allocations, then they may get fewer. My dealership appears to be relatively...

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

It is not like me at all, but I am beyond excited for something what-used-to-be-normal. Only 12 days left for my first test drive of the Emira, it will actually be the first time I will see it in the flesh. I feel like a teenager who is after his very first car. What I am told about allocations...

V6 FE dyno results and weight

I don't understand much about engines, so I may be way off here. One of the cars that I really enjoyed was my 997.2 GT3. A perfect mixture of analog inputs with just enough electronic assistance. Its gearing was pretty crazy, in second gear I would hit 78-79 mph, and 106-107 mph in 3rd gear...

    Goodwood Track Day

Really enjoyed it, thank you. And of course, well-driven Emira 👋 A couple of questions from me as well in addition to the above: Interestingly, your lap times kept increasing as the session went on. Is that related to how the car was behaving, brakes, tires, or something else? I am not...

    Brake oil opinion

I am not sure about the "longevity" of SRF from a time or duration perspective, at least I do not think it has better moisture absorption resistance or not compared to RBF660. SRF certainly has a significantly higher wet boiling point than any other brake fluid, I think by 100 degF. The cost...

    Track day preparations

One thing I would recommend is NOT to change your brake fluid until close to the track day, certainly not until the car's break-in phase is complete. As soon as you open the brake fluid bottle, it starts absorbing moisture, which gradually reduces its intended purpose. To have as fresh of a...

    Emira performance - disappointing?

I am a late commer to this thread and if I am speaking out of turn, I apoligize. Also, I am not trying to make excuses for Lotus. However, more power in any car comes with many compromises generally not immediately obvious. More power means, stronger trans, diff, drive shafts, more cooling...

    Hello All

Thank you very much, Tom. Yes, the wait will be rather long. In a way that helps me frankly, I have a couple of other priorities to tackle before the Emira. I never had a Lotus previously, and frankly, only two sports cars previously, a Cayman S and a GT3. A Lotus was always on the shortlist...
