Premium means branded non supermarket fuel so it has better additives whether 95 or 97-99 octane rating. I have been told by someone with good knowledge of the facts on this at Hethel that the lower octane rating actually helps this issue.

And to add, outside temperature makes no difference, nor is damp an issue & always started in the same garage. So it is an intermittent issue without obvious cause right now. I have given Lotus this thread so let’s see what they find. It’s not a big issue for me right now

This week I had to put 95 octane fuel in as i have very little left in the tank & on the motorway. No issues cold starting on that fuel either whereas I had issues in the past. My bet is still a mechanical issue with fuel flow or less likely, software

A new software update was released last week. It is intended to address non starting issues that quite a few people have been experienced and may well address this (I don’t know the full range of issues intended to be fixed) - but worth trying

I have just been told by Lotus Silverstone that the software update has been released today so interesting to hear whoever gets it done first and whether this finally fixes these issues.

Just watched the video. From what he said I’m not sure that it had the software update - he mentions wiper motor. His is similar age to mine and Silverstone knows the issues that the software update had with mine so I wonder if they didn’t do it. I will ask.

I would also recommend that you drive both rather than taking what various reviewers say. I have Sport suspension with Goodyears and and am very happy with it. I personally wouldn’t get the Michelin tyres for general UK road use. The markings are clear so there should be no confusion
