Also there's the small point that an Evora 430 is about £20k sterling more expensive than the V6 FE - both new and now second hand.... In today's money the Evora 400 was/is about the same as an Emira FE. The even better news is the Emira engine is basically the 430 with a pegged back rev limit...

That specific RPM (2250-2750) in gears 1, 2, 3 or 4 does not make the same noise...... I'm not sure what you mean here. I'm not talking about a constant road speed, the noise is at a specific engine speed at partial throttle in gears 5 and 6 only.

That was my first thought, but I am wondering why it can't be heard in gears 1-4....

Just wondering if this is a ‘characteristic’ or an issue… I have a very distinctive and reproducible fluttering noise, almost like a heat shield vibrating, but only in 5th or 6th gear (manual) and only between 2250 and 2750rpm when on the throttle. It’s not the same as the drivetrain...

Literally how every car company works. What do you think Lotus is going to sell all those FE customers in 2025 (mid cycle even by your reckoning)? An S model or something similar. 2024 will be about the base/i4 2025 will be the trade up model.

Dealer is getting involved now to see if they can hurry it up... I am sure they don't want the car sat there. There's also the complication of a private reg. But if I haven't heard by next week I'll give him a try - thanks very much for the info.
