Given Asia is only getting the AMG 400bhp version, I think DCT/Auto will be their best seller in the longer run. Maybe the FE will be mostly V6 manual until the i4 starts churning out of Hethel.

I think I have been over thinking it, but how does lane assist work with a hydraulic steering rack? It would be simple for electric steering. Maybe that’s why FE don’t have it, maybe it needs extra hardware.

Another thing about the V6 hitting the emotion notes is the open gears mechanism….. But I do like a rapid shifting DCT….. decisions decisions.

For me, it’s mainly a weekend car and the odd summer use for commuting to the. Scottish Highlands. The key use though will be touring on longer road trips, so refinement (enough to keep Mrs happy) and reasonable economy on longer journeys will be important to me. What’s the expected touring...

On a plus, my wife hates loud exhaust noises and coming from my EV daily, any exhaust noise is a bonus. I set the bar pretty low….

One thing that intrigue me is the combining the M139 engine with electro-hydraulic pump for the hydraulic steering rack….. more complicated maintainence in the long run? Ie. Replacement of the pump down road?

You and I are in the Same boat…. I4 = quicker shift, less hassle in traffic, more focus on road, lighter and quicker. Less noise but more mpg for touring. AMG engine with 8 sp DCT.. Lower VED. Upgradable with a tune. V6 = huge emotional connection of noise and manual box. Toyota reliability...

If private plate, then there’s no worries. The novelty of a 72 plate for a few months would be fun before transferring private plate.
