    📓 Journals The Full Magma

I feel like I'm making a sequel of single white female called magma red emira....I also have a ctek awaiting new duties - M6 eyelets (IIRC from another thread) so £6.99 off ebay?

    📓 Journals The Full Magma

Very interesting info - I have a similar spec Magma on order (production next month, in theory) and I was considering PPF on the front end, too. I don't have experience of PPF and so I've been in research mode - is the PPF wrapped around the panels or are the edges visible?

    Music via USB drive

As a Linux user, I steer clear of NTFS unless I am only using the device for Windows. Still have nightmares trying to mount reliably an NTFS drive for Linux use. I don't have the USB stick at hand but it sits in my wife's X1 and is read without any issues. Less than 16GB of mp3 files, from memory.

    Music via USB drive

I had a similar issue with a fat32 formatted usb stick on my first test drive. Just a bunch of folders on the root which contained mp3 files.

UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

I bank with Barclays and Premier account holders can only pay third parties £50k (unless through branch). So there will be some faff of two payments over two days unless Lotus offer a £25k discount for prompt payment! Totally agree that the bigger issue is that the approach to payment is...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

I test drove the Rybrook Birmingham emira for a second time this week (Jade and I ended up stuck on the M42 after it was closed for a lorry fire, but I digress) and, although I haven't driven the Touring as a comparison, I felt the Sport was too stiff on the awful B roads around here - I can...

UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

I was in the same boat (Jan/Feb) so phoned up CS on Monday - told March production/April delivery, although yet to receive email confirmation. Like you, it suits me well.

What's the first mod you did or plan to do for your Emira?

Keen to hear how your installer gets on with ppf front end. I have never had ppf before and I feel that it is too costly (plus yellowing, potential damage on removal etc) to do the whole car but I am minded to ppf the front bumper, bonnet and sills.

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

Let's not get carried away - runner up for one of the PH reviewers - it seems that each of them has been given their own opportunity to name their favourite car of the year. Still, nice to see the Emira recognised positively by a UK car reviewer (beyond Harry and Chris Harris).

I'm out - the cancellations thread

It used to be the case that the refund had to go to the original account but the card scheme rules make it pretty clear the process. Take VISA scheme rules as an example: To the extent possible, the Merchant must process a Credit Transaction to the same Payment Credential as used in the...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

Yep, the Rybrook Birmingham demonstrator had it - both the Rybrook rep, Charlie, and I commented up it. I am not concerned particularly by it as it was only noticable (and even then, not very loud) at low revs/speed.

Magma Red Lotus Emira Photo Thread

It looks identical to my spec: Magma Red Lower black pack only DC wheels black calipers Black seats with red stitching In fact the only difference(s) I've immediately spotted is that the example in the video has privacy glass (which I've not specced) and is that an aclantara steering wheel...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

I plugged in a usb stick that is normally plugged into my wife's X1's infotainment. Folder structure is Artist > album and mp3 format. 32GB or 64GB capacity and will be formatted FAT32, I suspect. We couldn't readily access the usb stick following my test drive so reverted to a bluetooth...

@TomE Can you update the Rybrook Birmingham spec on the first post, please? It sounds like Rybrook Bristol received the Touring spec car.

If you test drive it, when asked whether to circle back on the motorway or through Earlswood, just choose the latter and the potholes will be the giveaway

UK dealer demo cars - specifications

Just test driven the Seneca blue Emira at Rybrook Solihull. Charlie told me it was Sports suspension rather than the Touring, and made a call to someone at Rybrook to confirm it whilst we were on the test drive. I hope he is correct because the suspension was a little crashy around Earlswood...

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

As my car of the last 20 years has been an S2000, I was hoping the supercharger would give a similar linear power delivery. I am not a fan of turbo power delivery (going against the flow, I am sure).

    More details for KEF Audio

I remember how much a difference was made to my aftermarket Alpine setup in my S2000 after it was configured using the Alpine Imprint setup that another S2000 had invested in. It was a night and day difference to have it setup for the car's particular acoustics.

Speed limiter, cruise control and ADAS

The process for a GB provisional type approval (which appears to be the scheme implemented on exit from the EU) is described here: https://www.vehicle-certification-agency.gov.uk/vehicle-type-approval/national-type-approval-in-the-uk/provisional-gb-scheme/ So I would assume Lotus is piggy...

Anyone thinking twice about buying Emira?

... and gear change, engine, practicality.... I was tempted by an S1 elise but in the end it was a little too compromised as a potential daily driver. As a weekend country road blatter, I would agree that the Elise was the better car. Mind you, it was too niche and so is gone from the market -...

    Homelink use cases

Anyone received their 30 day notification yet?

That would be an easy way for Lotus to meet the £60k base model i4 commitment, if they could get the first batch out within the VAT reduction period ;) Then raise the base model price with the return to 20% VAT....
  33. P

Is an early delivery potentially a curse?

Yes, the reliability of the V6 over the i4 (in unfamiliar mid-engined territory) was one of the deciding factors for me. The factory tour also gave some comfort regarding panel alignment and the like.

Is an early delivery potentially a curse?

For many, I will be considered lucky. As I have posted on another thread, I placed my first payment on the evening that Goodwood closed and initially planned to buy the less costly i4, having originally had my eyes on a more practical M2 but had my head turned by the base model i4's price...

The I4 Emira is just a PONZI scheme

Well....re (2) and (4), myself and another tour attendee heard an Emira go past us as we waited at the gates prior to the start of the tour - it didn't sound like the V6 so we thought it may be an i4 test mule. This is back in April.....

    8/15 Factory Tour

My thoughts, too - a former girlfriend had an S2000 which she drove for several years (and had serviced several times) before eventually a dealer spotted transport blocks on her car! She received a brand new S2000 from Honda and in return Honda placed her original S2000 on display (as a warning...
