This was an excellent forum suggestion, thanks!!

I was not impressed by the KEF system at all for the first year of ownership. But, it seems like it sounds significantly better now. I have zero explanation for this, but it seems much, much better than it was when the car was brand new. I also lack the audiophile vocab to tell you why I think...

Why Would I Ever Service the Emira at the Dealership?

I think it’s a relatively small price to pay for peace of mind. My dealer is about 2 hours from where I live. Both times I have taken the car in, it has been worth the inconvenience to have it serviced there. The service manager has gone out of his way to make sure that anything that should be...

Why Would I Ever Service the Emira at the Dealership?

Software updates. Documentation of any issues that you can’t resolve and want resolved under warranty. TSB/recall issues. I took my car in for service on an unrelated matter last year, and the rubber (or plastic or whatever) skirt was added under the front hood to help prevent water...

3rd round of Redundancies at Lotus 😞

Nobody has a crystal ball. Lotus has knocked on death’s door many, many times before. Since everyone here is speculating doom and gloom, I will speculate too. Lotus will soldier on. Chin up lads!

    AI wonder ... Mixed feelings

My apologies to my future computer overlords who may be reading this. Your render is perfect and it was an AI hate bot that infiltrated my account and posted that. Please don’t punish me!

    AI wonder ... Mixed feelings

Yes, a dash of McLaren, a pinch of Corvette, shorten the wheelbase (the last thing the car needs), and here we are, generic sportscar!

    AI wonder ... Mixed feelings

I think it would be interesting to see how the AI front changes affect the side and front corner views. What we see in the render has the benefit of not having to relate to the side view. Also, it can make front end changes without regard to how those changes affect crash regulation compliance.

    AI wonder ... Mixed feelings

Interesting changes to the EOS green. Looks more angular and aggressive, more “in style”, and less organic. In other words, looks more generic and more forgettable. On to the more important matter. Do you like the changes AI made to your front door and window treatment?

Thinking of Selling Macan GTS and Mint e46 M3 for Emira

I recently lost weight myself. About 35 lbs in 2 months. Exercise and not eating. Ozempic not needed! It sucked for a bit but it works!

Thinking of Selling Macan GTS and Mint e46 M3 for Emira

I would love Tillett or Cobra Nogaro seats for style and lateral support, but I don’t want to lose the airbags.

Thinking of Selling Macan GTS and Mint e46 M3 for Emira

6’0” (ok, more like 5’11.5”), 165 lbs. Seats are OK comfort wise for me, but definitely could be more laterally supportive and positioned 1-1.5” lower in the car.

What car is more beautiful than an Emira?

Emira is much better proportioned and "cleaner" than the Ferrari F8. Not even close. It's my opinion, therefore it's correct. Fact. Now the F355, eh, it's a lot closer call for me.

Doing oil change - what else while I'm doing that

This thread has been helpful. I picked the car up new in March 2024. Gentle break-in period, made sure the car was fully warm before any short trips into the upper rev range, no prolonged ye-haw-bounce-off-the-rev-limiter-zingers. No track days. I practice “mechanical sympathy” when driving in a...

Doing oil change - what else while I'm doing that

Oil analysis seems reasonably priced, I’m just not sure what I would do with the data on my new, non-tracked, under warranty car. If the analysis detected extra wear, but the car was still running well and not throwing error codes, I think it would just make me worried about my engine. I doubt...

What car is more beautiful than an Emira?

I don’t think any new cars at any price look better. Wilder, yes, but not necessarily better. The proportions of the Emira are spot on. McLarens, Ferraris, and Lamborghinis look more dramatic, but I don’t find that their proportions are quite right. A bit too stretched here, an unnecessary...

EVO: BMW M2 v Porsche Boxster GTS v Lotus Emira v Alpine A110 v Ford Mustang

As I have stated before, I haven’t driven a Porsche, so I might change my tune if I had a broader frame of reference. From a 10,000 foot view, it seems that automotive journalist pine for days gone by. The Emira seems to be one of the very, very few cars that gives a proper old-school sports...

Agreed! These cars will wear out at some point, and when they do, they can be fixed!

    Any Ice Grey regrets?

For those of us who plan to keep our cars forever, 25 years from now, I think a “lived in” but well cared for Emira will be cooler than a museum piece. I want to see some fractures and chips in Babe Ruth’s bat, and some creases in Willie Mays’ glove. When I go to car shows, the well maintained...

EVO: BMW M2 v Porsche Boxster GTS v Lotus Emira v Alpine A110 v Ford Mustang

I get that Lotus completely mishandled the pricing. You can’t imply or tell everyone the car is going to be significantly cheaper than it will be once at the dealership and available for purchase. That being said, the automotive press didn’t crow about the price of the Evora GT, which when...

EVO: BMW M2 v Porsche Boxster GTS v Lotus Emira v Alpine A110 v Ford Mustang

Of course I’m going to agree with this. It’s written by a fellow OS Emira owner, so his opinion must be dead on! I subscribed to Evo earlier this year, as I really miss Road & Track from when I was a kid. It’s not the same, but finding good general interest print car magazines is getting harder...

    Any Ice Grey regrets?

I got my car in March 2024. Osmium Silver with Ice Grey. I LOVE the way it looks, and it has held up well. I coated with G techniq at maybe 1,000 miles. I have about 4,300 miles now. It is holding up well. There are minor spots, but nothing you’d notice unless you were really looking. No...

    Jubu Swan Spoiler

And just like that, Jubu being defensive and secretive about a non-patented part was rendered pointless by a forum member uploading photos of the install process. Broken Axle? GI in built axles and how common this issue actually is.

I was Lotus offered a “romp on it” option from the factory. $5,000 package with driveline parts rated to 550 horsepower. Basically, you can’t break it at stock horsepower levels mo matter how you drive.

What car is more beautiful than an Emira?

I happened to see one on a Sunday afternoon at a car show in Del Ray Beach, Florida. It was very good fortune that we decided to have lunch across the street from a concour that we didn’t know was planned for that afternoon. The Islero was stunning. A Miura as well as a Maserati Ghibli were...
