Sad news but not a huge surprise:
"Lotus has confirmed proposals to cut up to 200 jobs in response to a significant fall in sales last year.
The Geely-owned manufacturer maker sold just 576 cars in 2022, down from 1566 in 2021, which it blamed on supply chain issues in the second half of the...
You should be able to see the bottom end of the damper behind the wheel. It has a label saying “Sport” or “Tour” and the part number also has an S or a T.
For home delivered and factory collected cars, LCC should have asked you as part of Checkout to nominate a servicing dealer. In theory they are then notified.
I say in theory, because I know several dealers who weren’t notified about home deliveries in Dec, Jan and Feb and only found out when...

As Lotus have been poor at communicating with customers there is an information vacuum and so rumour and speculation spreads. Everyone is hungry for info and jumps on the latest snippet to...
Good to read this. On the way back from Goodwood FOS each day I passed 2-3 groups of kids camped out with signs saying “Rev It” “Send It” etc and was happy to oblige with some V6 joyfulness. Many thumbs up and smiles and waves. We need to enthuse the next generation!
Some of mine, but mainly how others on here have been expressing it in this thread. And based on Lotus naming cars with an E- format.
My personal journey includes going back to the top and enjoying my Evora while waiting with Expectation for an Emira GT :)
To be fair, the Alpine system in the GT/GT410/GT430 is fine - wireless CarPlay connects every time, radio and music sounds OK, calls are clear, nav works.
That’s right, my figures aren’t apples to apples and originated from info on the lightest and heaviest versions. The max weight difference is similar to a tank of fuel or a petite passenger. Most people won’t notice it.
Firstly, glad to hear the occupants were OK and no bystanders injured. Secondly, sad to see one of these beautiful cars crashed and most likely a write off.
Thirdly, should I move this thread to “News”, “Seen in the wild” or “Modifications”? ;)
I’ve had no further info since I was told the unoptioned Base i4 was 53kg lighter than the fully loaded First Edition V6, which was over a year ago. I believe Lotus usually publish EU DIN weights.
Interesting video by one of the participants about the cancellation of Saturday due to the weather. Includes behind the scenes footage of them protecting the site and cars.
Evija wasn't taking part in the "Timed Shootout", it was only in the Lotus Moment parade and the Supercar Runs, which are demo runs too.
I'm not sure if it was originally planned to be in the Shootout but with Saturday cancelled there were no qualifying sessions and a reduced field for the...
That’s it.
No details on display for Emira such as paint samples or specs. Evija hidden upstairs in VIP area. Staff unable to confirm anything about US build timetable or i4 specs such as ADAS.
Lots of Geely senior people and their guests over from China plus Chinese media.
I’ll try again...
Important message - event cancelled on Saturday due to adverse weather, Sunday still going ahead.
An important update from the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard organisers.
It is with deep regret that we have taken the decision that the Goodwood Festival of Speed will not go ahead...
Hi Roland, I’ve moved your post into the main GFOS thread.
Thanks for the intel and pics. Great to see you and Mrs R again. You had more luck with the Eletre than me getting an Emira ride, I was told all the slots had been allocated to media and VIPs. Guess that means you’re one of the VIPs!
I was stood opposite when that happened.
The broken wheel bounced over the hay bales into the spectators. Two people with minor injuries but could have been a lot worse.
There are signs every few feet on the bales (and on the tickets) “Motorsport can be dangerous”.
The car that went straight...
Thanks for posting this info. There are a few owners who have previously reported issues that might have been related to earthing, but were ECU warning lights or temporary power reduction rather that total loss.
I know one dealer had a demo car that displayed faults and later bricked, where it...
None of the many Lotus people I spoke to today had a definitive answer. Several said the timing for publicising Base pricing was not yet decided, a couple said they thought it would not be published until early next year.
I expressed surprise about this, as I have two deposits in play, one for...
They just did a “Lotus moment” with several Lotus F1 cars, an Emira and an Eletre.
At the top of the hill they interviewed the Emira driver and he confirmed his was an i4. That was Stealth Grey not Nimbus.
I’ve got video of the whole group but after the sound of the F1 cars the Emira sounds...

Yes, it looks like the commentator notes were wrong. I’ve only seen one i4, the black one on the stand. All the other ones in the paddocks are V6. But there are loads here and they could have another i4 somewhere else.
There is definitely supposed to be one going up the hill, as I asked...
I’ll go and try to confirm with Lotus.
I asked when I got here about having a ride up the hill in an i4 but all the slots are reserved for media and visiting Geely VIPs.
Here’s the sound comparison
Nimbus Grey i4 and Hethel Yellow V6. The i4 sounds good and better than I was expecting. The V6 sounds great and I prefer it, but they’re both good.
It’s only an iPhone video but I think gives a good impression of the differences.
