Only three more years of ICE Emira?

Wrong. The people writing investor presentations for SPACS are primarily investment bankers with lawyers looking very, very, closely over their shoulders to avoid investor class actions or SEC violations. This is not about font sizes or pretty colours. In multiple presentations lodged with...

Only three more years of ICE Emira?

Agreed. But what's all this talk about "converting the Emira to BEV" in the investor presentations? It seems unlikely that they would repeatedly say this in multiple presentations if it wasn't the plan.

My rear tyre (tire) only lasted 700km. Screw that.

Bugger. I had a miserable twelve months when two different houses were being rennovated on my street and I got not one, not two, but three nails in my tyres. The builders seem to just toss them on the ground without thinking twice.

Latest Car Magazine review — says it all

Pretty positive review overall. Not sure what they are talking about with slow touchscreen software. Maybe an issue with their specific car?

Only three more years of ICE Emira?

I've wondered about that too. However, the investor presentation very clearly says that they will have 3 BEV sports cars in 2025 (Evija, Emira, Type 135) .
  11. Nick in Sydney

Only three more years of ICE Emira?

It seems so since they have applied for planning permission to build another new facility there to manufacture the Type 135. At the moment they seem committed to the "sports cars in England to protect the brand" strategy.

Only three more years of ICE Emira?

Yes! Although I think this forum creates a massive echo chamber that exaggerates the scale of these issues. Lotus is currently delivering ~4,500 Emiras a year, and we have a handful (ie, less than five) people on this forum who have had genuinely terrible "lemon" experiences.

Only three more years of ICE Emira?

We've probably discussed this before, but if you look closely at the wording in the Lotus SPAC investor presentation, it very clearly states that Lotus will be a BEV only company by 2027. The January SPAC presentation specifically says that "ICE production will end in 2026." The July...

    New Lotus company

Based on the July SPAC investor presentation, my interpretation is that sports car manufacturing, design and engineering remains with Lotus Cars. All global car sales, distributor relationships, marketing and customer care has been pulled into the Chinese group that will go to IPO/SPAC. The...

Lotus already sold 2200 Emira in the first half of this year

To be pedantic, they didn't "sell" 2,200 Emiras in the first half, they manufactured them. The sales took place over the past three years. But you're right, the company has real momentum. They are putting out ~4,500 Emiras a year now, and the Electre order book is MUCH stronger than I...

Went in for recal/updates, came out with a new issue

Vast majority of Emiras have no material issues at all. Unfortunately there are a very small number of "lemons" that have put their owners through hell.

Is the Tan leather less orange in real life?

Definitely less orange than most photos make it look. For some reason it just doesn't photograph well.

Does Dark Verdant (Green) look more slightly-teal or more forest green in person?

I wouldn't say Teal. Closer to metallic Forest Green when it's hit by light. It's a complex paint. Basically, you don't see the green at all on a panel that's in the shade, the paint has been designed to shift to black. On the other hand, in bright sun the car is very clearly metallic green.

As a buyer, what are my odds of receiving a trouble-free Emira?

I don't think a historical survey is going to answer your question, because Lotus has been addressing "initial niggles" with each software update and is in frequent dialogue with its suppliers. Who cares if someone had a problem six months ago? What matters is whether you will have a problem...

I remember when you canceled your Emira order months ago. You should look back through your posts since then . . . most of them are negative trolling comments. Why do you bother, why not just move on? No debate that Lotus' customer service in the UK is woeful and it's infuriating that they...

Seems to be market-specific. Tesla's China sales are falling fast because BYD is a much better value. But in the US Tesla sales still seem very strong. "Tesla delivered a record number of vehicles in the second quarter, as its strategy to cut prices drove a sharp increase in sales of its...

Lotus would be thrilled to be compared with Tesla. -- 3.6 million vehicles on the road, 20% share of worldwide EV sales -- highest profit margin among the 10 largest car makers -- worth more than Toyota, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, BMW, GM, Stellantis and Ford combined. If that's failure, then...
