Mine goes back to the dealer on the 19th the replace the second thermostat. I told them to properly flush or it will come back. They didn’t. If it faults again I might lemon it.

Make sure they change both thermostats and properly flush the entire system. If not, it will fault again.

The have one dedicated tech.

Take it to the dealership and have them start the warranty work. It takes weeks for the parts to arrive. Drove 1800 miles before mine came on. After repairs mine came in again. This time it was the other thermostat. This time I choose not to leave the car and told them I will bring it back...

I was happy with the District rep from Lotus. I felt very at ease as he stated he would do what it takes to make it right even extend the warranty.

Got the car back today. They replaced both thermostats. Not sure if they did a flush. Within a mile the CEL came back on. Service tech was off today. Lotus of DC only has one tech I believe. Ran the OBD scanner and it says 0 codes but the old P2CEF code still showing. Is this a false...

Mine has been in the shop since May 20th and I should get it back this week. They are replacing both thermostat and hopefully a flush.

Mine was a P2CEF code= thermostat stuck open.

The dealership is handling it. Not sure if they tried or not. Since this is an issue with Benz and lotus I’m not sure about availability.

Thermostats were stateside. Non-reusable bolts weren’t. 3-4 weeks from overseas.

I love the car a lot. I would get another one and the same spec but sadly it won’t be a first edition. If lotus could just replace the car with the same spec I would be fine. Maybe they would have the sand issue resolved by then.

Might be time for lotus to replace cars with this sand issue. The entire engine and coolant systems might need replacing. If mine gets to that point i want my car replaced on their dime.

I like the new wheel design better than the current design. I would want the advanced driving options.

Dealer stated they are now waiting for four non-reusable bolts for the thermostat to arrive from Germany!!!:rolleyes::mad:. Does this sound correct?

Around 1900. 1500 when the CEL first came on.

Both thermostats need to be replaced. Parts are stateside. Still waiting on them to finish the car. It’s been two weeks so far. This code may be an indication of residual sand in the engine casting.

Thermostat parts are local so I should have it back soon

It’s at least four on this forum alone maybe more. I absolutely love the car. I just want to know this can be resolved and not a reoccurring issue or a complete engine replacement.

I’m just concerned that this will result in long term issues or future engine replacement. Should Lotus buyback vehicles with this issue?

Well add me to the thermostat issue! Car was purchased in December and has 1900 miles. I hope it’s not the sand issue but I suspect it is.
