Agreed. He tries too soon and it prevents the first downshift. A second or two later he tries again after losing some revs and it obliges. The revs appear to be quite close to the red line after the shift.

He starts manually shifting the i4 at around 6mins. I don't detect any significant delays between his inputs and the up and down shift execution.

Hopefully there are aftermarket manufacturers already working on carbon fiber replacements with better ventilation (y)

I'm of the same mind. Everyone was expecting the main issue with the I4 to be with the sound. The DCT feedback was really leftfield given it comes from the A45s which gets no such negative reviews. It feels like this is going to be a race between the first batch of customer cars vs the demo...

This is the most negative review of the DCT I’ve seen. Other reviews alluded to the shift being a bit ponderous at times but this seems more damning. I really don’t understand how they could have taken the software from the A45s and made such a backwards step. My previous E90 M3 had BMW first...

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it. I ordered Aug 21 and have a November build. To be honest I'd prefer to be later as I want to test drive before I commit.

You're right. I was only considering the differential. These numbers seem crazy high. Audi charge £30 per month for my RS3. Assuming annual servicing then Lotus want an average of £900 per service! Can't be right. Edit - found these for the V6 and they seem reasonable...

Pardon my ignorance in all matters welding but could this problem also be present on the I4 with it's aluminum subframe? Not sure if all these issues are specific to the steel process or could be equally replicated with aluminum. 🤞

Great to hear the road trip is back on track. The alps route sounds incredible. It would be good to hear the outcome of the recovery callout story and how Lotus turned it around for you.

I agree. We got the V6 by degrees with various pre-prod cars doing the rounds leading to lots of qualified early reviews. Hopefully the I4 will be the sum of the latest (resolved) V6 production incarnation plus the AMG engine without many increments being drip-fed to the press. Given we know...

I thought I saw a post the other day suggesting there might be an I4 out for review. I was wondering if any dates have been mooted yet for when the reviews might land? I seem to remember we had more information when then V6 was nearing that stage.
