    Emira track impressions

Sway bar rates, like spring rates, are tools to help adjust the axle balance, weight transfer behavior, or motion control characteristics. They work together as the entire spring system (tires included). Without knowing what the driver is trying to eliminate or induce, it's hard to say what's...

    Emira track impressions

100% - It was the same experience for me as well. Flopping around more than a fish on land. Just waiting on GRP to ship the rails, then I can better assess the car on my home track.

    Limited Telematics

I recently had a TEM update (only update performed) from the dealer and my Limited Telematics warning has gone away. I have been getting that warning every morning if the car sits overnight. 2 Days overnight and I haven't gotten that warning again.

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

The whole premise of the piggyback is that it cannot modify the actual mapping tables in the ecu. It relies on the hard coded mapping tables of the OE ECU to run the power train because it doesn't have any of its own. What it effectively does is intercepts certain sensor signals, like MAF and...

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

With these types of piggyback systems, the dealership would only see the modification if one leaves this intact when it goes into service. If the owner removes the module, the dealer would not see any modifications. The piggyback system intercepts the signals from various sensors and modifies...

Emira JB4 Tuning Now Available for I4 & V6 Cars!

Awesome to see more tuning options come to market. Does the user have the ability to make "mapping" or parameter changes within the tune? Would you happen to know if they offer any Ethanol maps on the v6?

Is anyone here running Nitron Fastroad or Clubsport suspension?

Really appreciate your feedback. Especially on the street experience. From purely the street perspective only, if you would do it again, would you go with a slightly lower spring rate? Like something between Fastroad and Clubsport? I'd like to ask that question now since you haven't had track...

Access to engine bay from cabin?

I'm sure you've already considered this, but there is a lot of engine heat inside that space. I don't anticipate the rear view cameras for general use (dash cam, reverse cam, etc) would be made to survive in that environment for long.

Lotus Emira V8 in Testing & Other News

It's entertaining and fun to think about and even more entertaining to see people's opinions and theories! With enough money, anything is possible. In the end, Lotus is a business, and it all comes down to feasibility and profits. I personally wouldn't hold my breath on any of this...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

Agreed! I too have the touring suspension and there's just a lot more weight transfer than I prefer. Bus stop chicanes feel like ages when you're waiting for the car to take a set or settle before putting in more input. That's really irritating when coming from a more focused/dedicated...

Who here has tracked their Emira?

Agreed. I am able to engage ABS on command with OEM tires. I will re-eval when I move to 200TWs or lower. PFC 15/08 is working well for me. Very good pedal feel, consistent travel, strong initial bite if that's your jam, but very good modulation/release characteristics. They didn't score rotors...

    GiroDisc rotors

We can take this offline, be happy to share my data and findings with you. I'll PM you. I have no skin in the game to whether or not others run brake cooling or not. Just simply suggesting to let data guide one's decisions.

    GiroDisc rotors

Just from my experience, blanket brake cooling isn't always the answer. It's best to assess your braking sustained temps and operational window to determine if cooling is needed. Although these air scoops may be less forceful, I went through a period of cracking rotors when I was ducted...

    Red Exclamation Mark in dash

Do you have the amber warning or a red warning? If Amber warning, you can view the warning message on the cluster widget. For Red warning, I'd imagine there would be an accompanying DTC code, so perhaps plug in your OBD2 scanner and scan for any codes that may show.

    Reading Check Engine codes

Using an Autel Mk808, I selected the generic OBD/CAN selection. This was good to read the CEL codes. Selecting Toyota or Volvo did not successfully communicate with other systems. Using a generic BT OBD2 device and TorquePro App, no mfg selection is required - just auto detects fault codes.

    Squeaky drivers seat!

Since it's an easy check, check the plastic side trim that partially covers the lower seat. Some have reported that digs into the leather (mine did, I used a rubber edging trim to line it up and protect the leather) and sometimes that can cause squeaks. I doubt that's your issue, but since...

    Emira Exhaust Upgrade?

Have you checked fuse #15 in the front fuse junction box? There have been instances where the Milltek VC module shorts out internally, blowing that fuse. If you do indeed have a blown fuse, your Milltek VC has shorted out.

DIY: V6 Manual Transmission Fluid Change

Thanks for the data point. That'll be great if it can keep this feel for 10K+ miles. My S2000 is similar, but within 5K miles it'll go back to feeling notchy, but there are a few fundamental differences in that transmission compared to the Evora/Emira. It uses 1.8QTS of fluid for drain/fill and...

DIY: V6 Manual Transmission Fluid Change

Quick update: I just test drove the car and shifting is smoother in all gears, cold and operating temps in 80F ambient temps. 1st and 2nd gear shifts is much improved.
