Removing factory seat and installing Tillet B10-tips and tricks

@jp129 Given you only did the driver's seat and assuming you got the GRP sensor over-ride harness, is it safe to say you have ZERO warning lights/errors related to the driver seat swap?

    Poll: I4 Sand Contamination

It depends on how much sand residue exists. Here's the scoop, from the few "autopsy" photos that are floating around the "interwebs" it doesn't appear to take much to mess with the water pump and thermostat(s). My guestimate is that if you have this condition, it'll come up quick. Certainly...

    FOMO Engaged - Girodisc/Ultradisc

I've used these on multiple cars (Evora, 4C, Carrera T) and they are by far one of the best mods for anyone that uses their car for both light to moderate track and street driving. They save weight and the rotors themselves last materially longer than any of the OE they replaced. GiroDisc...

Obsessed Garage Emira (fitted with GRP parts) Giveaway

It's identical to the OEM version as far as final fit and size of fins, etc. So just look at your car from whatever angle, and just imagine CF wherever you would see the black plastic.

Obsessed Garage Emira (fitted with GRP parts) Giveaway

So, I recently had to replace my diffuser (won't get into why, still a sore spot). I also went with GRP's CF version (Lotus had no OE versions stateside and said a month which likely meant double that) and it is indeed a beautiful, functional and lighter piece. However, I noticed in the install...

    Coilover options for i4

Valid point, forgot about the rear-subframe difference. The mounting hardware for the rears would definitely be different.

    Coilover options for i4

Well, if Lotus is even changing spring rates amongst the same model (i.e., Touring has a couple of different spring rates amongst the V6 Touring model per posts on this forum), it tells me the suspension tuning is a bit more complicated than we think. Hopefully, Nitron get something done soon...

    Why no carbon?

The Evora GT was basically CF galore and identical to the 430. The main difference was the front bumper and that's on the US DOT, not Lotus. Trust me, the CF options will come given the predictability of the Lotus product life cycle.

    Coilover options for i4

There's no difference in design, it's the spring and rebound rates that are different and take time to develop both on a bench suspension dyno as well as road testing.

JUBU spec Ohlins TTX suspension road & sport (2-way)… PURE ART

There's a video of the guys from PB Racing (see the 48 second mark) where he is talking about his new in-house developed springs vs the OE and they show this notch. If you look at the video and zoom in to the exhaust, you'll see it has the V6 exhaust (third cat delete uses a flange mount vs a V...

JUBU spec Ohlins TTX suspension road & sport (2-way)… PURE ART

I believe this is on all variants. Although the spring rates may be different across variants, the design of the OE Bilstien coilover is identical. So all cars have this feature. The real question, is it worth the labor for only a 5mm change?

    Why no carbon?

Quote of the day! BTW, let's not call it "CF" any more. Let's make "PP" happen people!
  17. F

    Why no carbon?

The CF will come. It's simply being saved for the later (possibly last few) variants. Long-time Lotus fans (i.,e. you've followed the company since the Esprit/Elise) know this. For as much as we all like to gripe about Lotus and all the things they don't do, they are in fact one of the most...

Exhaust System Upgrade Options Available for Turbo I4 AMG Engine Yet?

I felt compelled to give an update on this for any other i4 exhaust DIY'ers. As you saw from above, my buddy and I really struggled getting clean access to the V clamp for proper placement and tightening when we did this over a month ago. The details are above. Fast forward to last weekend...

@docron Only if it's easy to see by the naked eye(i.e., no further dismantling needed), can you see what machined indentation on the OE Bilstiens the circlip that holds the lower spring retention hat in place? There were reports that there are 3 different setting (i.e., 3 machined...

GoFastBits (GFB) Atmospheric Blow Off Valve (BOV)

This. Several people have alluded to this change over the years as being completely emissions related and not performance/engine efficiency related.

GoFastBits (GFB) Atmospheric Blow Off Valve (BOV)

Actually, I take that back, it looks like it may still occur in some cases. This is from the GFB instruction PDF: "Venting Duration/Timing: You might hear the VTA vent at seemingly odd times, but this is determined by the ECU and is not a fault with the VTA. The ECU typically turns on the...

GoFastBits (GFB) Atmospheric Blow Off Valve (BOV)

If there is, it should be minimal to non-existent because the whole point is to vent it out of the turbo and into open air. However, I know most have just installed them out of the box. If you read above and on the GFB website, the coin slot on top adjusts "how much" to vent out. You can play...

GoFastBits (GFB) Atmospheric Blow Off Valve (BOV)

It doesn't overwhelm it, it gets rid of it. The "flutter" is the sound created by venting pressure back through the turbo (the flutter is air hitting the spinning turbo fins in the opposite direction) versus into the "atmosphere". Remember, this is specifically a VTA (vent to atmosphere) BOV...

    Anyone get a P13C2 or P246B code?

Not sure then. Both of these codes are associated with the exhaust and have come up when people have switched the exhaust out. Perhaps check to ensure the valve controller hasn't melted. It can be visually verified from the rear. As a last resort, undue the battery for a few mins. and see...

    Anyone get a P13C2 or P246B code?

Did you just switch out the exhaust? Or remove and reinstall the valve controller for any reason? If so, you need a calibration of the exhaust valve operation.
