feels like too much car to flip after a few months. I'd also fear over-bonding with it in that time! I'm not the kind of person that's always looking for something better, so the more I think about it, something on the cheap end of the scale makes more sense. There's less chance I'll think...

@emiraspain . About a Caterham, the trouble with ownership is I don't have a garage, otherwise it'd be right up there on the list. I've shopped for one many times, but always concluded it made no sense without a garage. The other trouble is I doubt I'd sell it even after the Emira arrives...

btw. many of these supply chain, shipping and inflationary issues have been artificially created by the shipping industry for profit, they are now not structural issues for the most part. This is the dirty secret that most of the media are not talking about...

thanks for the ideas, can't see the mx5 loosing anything in value, loads of fun on my local roads, can't really go wrong. But less sure about touring in it, lol, may be that'll have to wait for the Emira. I originally put manual box in my spec since my manual skills are a bit rusty, good prep...

I'm expecting to be told it'll be October at the earliest before my Emira arrvies. Not wanting to waste the little sunshine these isles get I'm thinking to get a gap car, something that will not loose value over 6 months (even with pending rate hikes!) and be fun to drive. It'd be a cash...

Further thoughts on the Emira from Chris Harris

if your mountain roads are smooth why wouldn't sport+GY be perfect? Our 'driving' roads in the UK are mostly in bad shape, a stiff setup can be harsh and the chassis can skip about, something the Touring setup seems to deal with well. That's important context for CH's comments but does not apply...

Lotus to float new EV division on stock market

My poorly made and slightly confusing point was that despite Polestar being in revenue and producing an excellent well received product it would not have been a good investment and may not be for a while. A lot of Tesla driven FOMO out there, much of which will end in tears.

Lotus to float new EV division on stock market

Geely's IPO of Polestar on the Nasdaq this week https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/psny and they're actually selling very good EVs, you know ones you can buy and drive.

    AutoTrader Review

I do like the Artura dash/display, just that bit bolder and sportier that the austere Emira graphics. Look even better in motion if you watch the reviews. Unlike exotic materials, premium HMI graphics and design don't cost anything extra. similar wheel But buttonless and purposeful. Love...

Locked your spec - one thing you now wish you could change ?

it's clear that DV has to be seen in the metal to get a feel for it - it's too elusive in the pictures. Even the video from the China showroom which show a cooler green, and I love the way it looks there, varies quite a bit from other shots inc. TG video which show a warmer tone (possibly...

I went with the tinted rear, must admit I didn't give that option a lot of thought. It's not that tinted judging by the car Harry reviewed, he could still see the engine. Of course you get about 5000x more sunshine in TX than me here in UK! The yellow belts might be wishful thinking on my...

Locked your spec - one thing you now wish you could change ?

Got DV with BP and silver wheels, black calipers. Ice interior. My thinking: Understated with wheels = interior, calipers = roof. Yellow highlights in the badges complimented by yellow centre marker on wheel (aftermarket). Might get some yellow belts to replace the black ones. That red Start...

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

I had originally had considered far more powerful cars, but I know on road the joy of driving is not proportional to power or outright speed, rather the sense of control and being able to exploit the power on offer. So the Emira came into focus as potentially the ideal balance. Schmee has got...

    Emira Review Index [V6 FE]

I think the most meaningful reviews are long-termers. Whenever I've had a car for a short while it's hard to feel what it's about and get past the idiosyncrasies which form part of the initial impression. After time they become less important and a feel for the overall character of the car...

Top Gear Photos with Chris Harris Track Testing

I don't know tbh. Actually I don't want it to be any louder, just fruitier. All the reviews are vague on this point, not clear if not sounding as good as the Evora means it is simply quieter, or has less character, rasp etc.
