Now that you mention it, I’m seeing a lot of overlap. The Lynk&Co auto shifter and parking button looks the same as the DCT Emira version. The climate control knobs are very similar too. And the steering wheel controls... Guess we know where Lotus found it’s interior. edit: picture for reference

Keep in mind that Porsche nickels and dimes you for every add on, so the equivalently priced Porsche 718 to the Emira is quite likely a fair bit higher, providing that the Emira had a higher level of standard equipment.

I’ve been gunning for a first edition, but I suppose I might be swayed away if the right color came along and wasn’t too far behind the others in terms of production.

True, there will likely be a difference in exhausts between markets due to regulations, etc.

It will be the same exhaust, but under 3000rpm will be slightly quieter in production versions, as the bypass valves were were left wide open in this range for Goodwood. I also think manufacturer reported 0-60 times on the faster model will be around 4.0 seconds, with the real world times...

What dealership was this? And as a current M2C owner and someone who’s seen the design of the next 2 series… wait for the Emira. :)

I think the faster model will see 4.0 sec 0-60 times, and real world times just below that. Lotus isn’t stupid, and they know people will be looking at cars like the GT4 and the M2C and comparing them. I fully expect Emira models down the road to be quicker, too.

I agree on this. What is “fast enough,” exactly? 10 years ago, a 0-60 under 4 seconds would have easily qualified as a supercar. It seems like at least one of the Emira configurations will be that fast.

NSX is faster, but honestly, I think the package the Emira presents is the more compelling one. Usable amount of power, manual, lighter, and in my opinion, better looking.

Agreed. I’d only take a uniform brake light and maybe get rid of the three separate heat sink design. I like the cars design more than his overall though.

Th This is all true, and an exceedingly logical way to look at it. No doubt it is the technically superior engine; not to mention more recently developed. That said, it just doesn’t stir the emotions the same way the V6 mated to a manual does. The sound, the shifting, the whining...
