📓 Journals It Finally Arrived down-under

I'm coming from a manual TT so it is definitely more notchy than that, but something I'll get used to. It feels more stiff than the various Emiras I've driven so far (test drives, driving academy), but I would put this down to the running in period. If you like driving "stick" it is rewarding...

📓 Journals It Finally Arrived down-under

Unfortunately the drive way is centered between the garage doors and tapers inwards from the edge of the garage doors to the road, with 50cm high hedges on both sides. Also the mirrors only miss the brickwork by about 10-15cm on both sides I'm not sure I trust my reversing around the curve in...

📓 Journals It Finally Arrived down-under

After the obligatory 2+ years wait, it has arrived, been PPF'd and taken up residence in the garage! One question, how do you do a hill start in reverse? (the Garage is lower than the street). It appears that the hill start hold, only works going forward (ie 1st gear), and hence I keep...

Emira Update, Lotus' NEW logo/badge, dealer invoice and why I changed my final order

The Lotus Driving Academy is definitely worth doing. Lotus Driving Academy | Lotus Cars United Kingdom I did the "Introduction to Sports Cars" which is a 1/2 day driving the track (2 sessions) plus a factory tour and Classic Lotus tour. (worth the flight from Oz :) )

    Factory tour - 16 Aug 2023

An absolutely worthwhile day! Given I had never driven on track previously, the first laps were somewhat nerve wracking, but after the tea break (and some amazingly instruction) it is amazing how quickly you get used to it (120+ MPH into a hair-pin bend - no problem! :) The Team LOTUS tour...

    Tackling scratches to paintwork

Very sorry to hear about the car! Frankly it is one of the worries I have getting one of these in Oz. The number of D*heads we have who feel justified in damaging other people's "pride and joy" because it is better than what they have :-( Also smashing a window proves they are complete...

    Factory tour - 16 Aug 2023

Beat me to it :-) My Factory tour is in conjunction with the driving academy on the 31st of this month. Will need to compare notes when back in Oz.

Suggestions for where to stay near Hethel

Thanks very much for the suggestions. To be honest I have never been to Norfolk (or East of London for that matter) so all suggestions are good ones

Suggestions for where to stay near Hethel

Given it looks like by car is turning up within the next 6-8weeks here in Oz, I decided to bite the bullet and come do the driving academy/factory tour prior to taking possession ( a long way to come I know, but 2 years on this forum has moved the reality distortion field somewhat wider than it...

    Hello from Sydney, Australia

Welcome, it was probably your car that I posted to the DV thread back when SSC had their last open day :) This is the second reference to No DAB or Navigation for a car delivered in Australia, and frankly has me worried for mine when it gets delivered. The lack of GPS and other UX functions...

What's everyone's placeholder given this long wait??

I Envy you :) I tried to buy one of these here in Oz back at the end of 2019, the week they announced that they were dropping the manual in the new year, and JRA refused to take the build order! My test drive (which I had to also wait 6 months for) showed it was a really nice GT - different...

    📓 Journals Its arrived!

The lack of native GPS is a concern - especially as (1) I don't use Android Auto and (2) it sounds like even if I did you can't have the maps on the instrument display - where I generally have it on the current car, so I don't need to move focus away from in front. The lack of native GPS has...

📓 Journals eclat2emira's Dark Verdant Emira Journal

Great photos and pretty close to my spec (I went for leather steering wheel/black callipers). In the nose to nose shots the darker colour gives the impression of the car actually being lower than the Nimbus with Black Pack (as @Eagle7 points out, it does looks "more Planted" - though I'm...

Another way to think about colours

Hi @dgrace, As I'm also a Mac user, I was going to try your Emira Sandbox in a Win 10 VirtualBox, but the Dropbox link above is indicating it has been deleted. Is this the case or I'm missing a permission or two.

    More details for KEF Audio

I was looking at the A-pillar speaker grill at the local open house, and given there is no tweeter in the FE cars it did appear to simply be a hole in the pillar (which you could see into from the drivers seat). Could one of the folk who have a car confirm if this is really the case or they...

Dark Verdant Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Finally seeing Dark Verdant in the Australian sun! Simply Sports Cars (Sydney) had an open day on the weekend for another "up close and personal" session, and kindly showed off the first customer cars to arrive here. It does look fabulous in sunlight and the colour flows in an almost liquid...

I'm in - the buyers thread

Actually had started to look at the F-Type again (P450), given the delays. But there is not a new one available for sale here in Oz at the moment (at least based on the website) so the delay would be the same with any replacement. I had looked at the Manual V6 F-type - it was a GT, but with...

How much later is the release date of the i4 over the V6?

Any idea how much later after the release of the V6, the i4 will be available? That is, is the First Edition only the V6 or will there be a corresponding First Edition AMG offering at the same time? Personally a Manual 4 Cylinder would be the perfect combination :-) but the local dealer...
