this is what helped me make my decision...... emotional v6 vs rapid DCT - had to be the noise... I did a bit more research too... there are a couple of YouTube vids of a45 or cla 45 where if you gun it all the time, it does low 20's mpg, not that much worse than the v6 - the difference will be...

Thanks Tom…. And yes, I was surprised and that also helped the decision. They did say if I switch back to i4 I would be bumped down the queue. Maybe I was lucky and got a cancelled slot in October.

My i4 email was 'early 2023' - I think as they are just planning the q4 production I got to keep my place in the queue - lucky timing I guess

I was 9am 9th July - so I think I would have been Sept delivery originally.. so October isn't too bad seeing that I dallied for a while and I am ok with that

OK.. I swapped to a V6 - delivery in October - only change I had to make was the steering wheel, where I had specced the yellow band. Went with my heart in the end....

Right Tom... and that's what's pulling me towards V6.... mine won't be a daily.... I do worry about Mpg, but from extensive research and a bit of man maths, the v6 will probably be 4 or 5mpg different to the i4 on average, so over 6k miles - £400 odd per year - v6 might actually be cheaper to...

I bloody wish.... I know the i4 is going to be great car... just think I will regret not having the v6 more..... I am not interested in upping the power on the i4 either - did that with my exige and its been a labour of love (and money)

yup - really leaning towards the v6 now....

I know.... that video is not helping me..... The original Harry video where he passengers in the dev car - the test driver says the i4 sounds really good - but with a ppf will it ever be able to.........

I know !!! I just listen to the a45s videos and it makes my heart sink... hence the v6 pang

I know I won't get an answer here, as there will be mixed opinions, but maybe writing this down will help.. I have been i4 from day one... cheaper, lower running costs, DCT, newer design engine, lighter etc etc Then Shmee gets a V6 and I start listening to the v6, the more videos of any v6...

Some of the emails don’t make sense.. I am i4 but had the ‘2023’ email, folks who put down deposit after me got the dec build, jan delivery email. I queried it with CS, they told me my place in queue was correct and essentially to go away….

I have paid second deposit, but my email says early 2023, not December build - so a bit confused about that as I was 9am on the 9th

I am same spec, but no black pack and leather wheel... when on 9th July did you deposit - I was 9am, but am 'early 2023'

I was trying to say that the 911 I saw didnt have the lift up - the gap was the same front to back. The 911 looked great even with a large gap. I was trying to help those concerned about the Emira gap

why would it have the lift on when its parked on the flat on a flat road ? Gap at rear was the same...

So I just walked past this 911 - its a 992 Carrera S - very bright sunshine for once here in the UK, but you can see what a huge gap it has between tyre and arch. NO ONE ever said the 911 rides to high... anyway, just thought it would give some comparison to some of you

To add… when I drove both the v6 exige and the Evora 410, that manual gearbox spoilt it for me a bit, and took some of the soul away… so that has also helped me not focus on just the noise….

This is me completely..... but I do remember it is going to be cheaper to run - tax, mpg etc which means more road trips and use for me. Also, when I am in a traffic jam, I will be reminding myself why a DCT is a good thing

I know you probably won’t get an answer… but when can we hear an i4 and also something that gives us confidence that the kef stereo isn’t ’tinny’ per the comment from top gear

maybe a slightly different yellow ? I am still going for that combination as I have yellow stitch in my Exige (saffron yellow) which goes really well

I was 9th July - i4 - didnt get an email - CC told me the system had sent it, but I have asked for a copy of the email to be forwarded on - I am first batch 2023 it seems (9am deposit)

Also - I would add that the old military road across the Cairngorms in Scotland is an epic road

I have owned a saffron yellow Exige S2 since 2005 - yes it does get attention, but almost always positive.. Maybe it is a bit shouty, but I have to say, when I went to the Newlands Corner meet (in the UK organised by our very own @TomE) and there were pretty much the whole range of colours...

Yes - and he contacted me as I had pinged Customer Care asking how it would work on April 8th - did we have to reserve again for example - You will be contacted for sure soon - delivery is Winter, so loads of time....

Who is trying really hard to make the process better as best he can... Called me on Friday to send me my i4 config link and to pay 2nd deposit(I was very early on July 9th), which I did - but it went through as a V6 (or at least the email said that) - he called me today to apologise, read back...
