Emira vs Ferrari - Still not 100% on which to sell

I couldn't disagree more. Whether the car is £10k or £100k shouldn't matter. They're meant to be driven otherwise what's the point?

Seneca Blue Lotus Emira Photo Thread

Best I can do but not a side shot. Ultimately, Seneca without upper black pack and with silver wheels, yellow calipers was the best option for me. Ice grey interior too.

Emira Issues - from final production cars

My tailgate also doesn't close properly unless I slam it from a height, causing the rear lights to stay on as a warning. You can also see that it isn't quite down. Once I've pressed down on the centre over the latch and on either side over the pressure pads, it closes properly and the rear...

Narrow Single Garage parking aids/sensors or recommendations

Another thing to consider is what Jamie at B&C told Ade ( @Evotion ) when he collected his car. Use the seat position memory buttons so that M2 has the seat right back, giving you more room to swing your feet out and in. Then just press M1 to move the seat to your normal position.

Narrow Single Garage parking aids/sensors or recommendations

Luckily the interior is by far the best Lotus has ever managed so if you can't get out and have to take up residence overnight it won't be the end of the world 🤣

Narrow Single Garage parking aids/sensors or recommendations

Definitely reverse in. The mirrors when folded are about the same width as the rear haunches. I have a double garage but with two doors so more room once inside. I reverse halfway in with a couple of inches each side to clear, stop and fold the mirrors, then reverse in the rest of the way...

📓 Journals Picked up my stunning Magma Red Lotus Emira

I noticed on the video that your brake discs weren't rusty, unlike a number of cars. Did B&C clean them or perhaps your car wasn't parked outside for a month? Disappointing that Lotus deliver cars in that state but they will replace discs and pads if they don't clean up. I was following a 488...

    📓 Journals 19 Months 12 Days later

Mine has done the same. Ten minutes later it's OK. I understand that it's a software issue related to the immobiliser. Not ideal and initially disconcerting, but it does reset itself.

📓 Journals Picked up my stunning Magma Red Lotus Emira

Looks fabulous Ade. I wasn't as excited as I should have been on collecting mine, but it's a super thing. And, overall, worth waiting for. If only you'd gone for Seneca Blue..............😀

    Music via USB drive

I've got it to see lossless files on a memory stick plugged into the USB A. You can switch between USB A & C on the centre display. Mind you the sound isn't particularly good, certainly not the premium that we're paying for.

Emira Issues - from final production cars

We used to do just that with DS11 competition pads years ago. Brake hard and continually until you got that strong hot brakes smell, let them cool, then they'd work really well. Until you did that the brakes didn't work.

UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

OK. I don't disagree with what you're saying. The process should be more straightforward and transparent, but it worked OK for me.

UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

Which is what I did, but with a nominal £1 and I phoned LCC for that and subsequent amounts rather than rely on web chat.

UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

I don't think I've missed your point. If 130 people in the UK have taken delivery or are about to, they've gone through this process. As far as I can recall, you are only the second person to query the process on this forum. Everyone else seems to have managed. Yes, of course, you should...

UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

I paid my invoice a couple of weeks ago from a Barclays account and the faster payments process. I believe that the sort code is the same for everyone but the account number is different for each payee, to hide the Lotus account identity. I also paid £1 at first then checked via a phone call to...

📓 Journals Look at what I picked up today 👀

Sometimes it's because the gear train Is still revolving, albeit slowly. My wife's Abarth 595 sometimes does it, as did 'proper' 1960's Mini Cooper Ss without synchromesh first gear. My S1 Elise too. The solution is to engage second gear first, to halt the rotation, because it will always...

Yes I've heard that too. LHD.

I'm out - the cancellations thread

That is absolutely shocking Mike. I can understand your dismay and refusal to accept this quite unbelievable treatment. To have a late issue with the car is one thing. To not communicate that to someone who was looking to spend £200k on two cars is beyond words. Good luck with where you place...

i4 FE - When are we going to see it? Getting annoyed

That may well have been what was planned but if the V6 FE Auto still doesn't have UK type approval, then it's probable that the i4 doesn't either. Also, given that the UK isn't a priority for either Geely or Lotus, isn't it likely that the i4 will be shipped to Europe and China before the UK...

UK deposit to order checkout to delivery process

I'd mentioned before that Lawrence Stroll had increased his holding in Aston Martin over the summer to prevent Geely becoming the major shareholder. Apparently, this week, Stroll has increased his holding again to ensure retaining control, presumably after Geely made further moves. Aston...

📓 Journals Another UK customer collection - Seneca Blue at Silverstone

Congratulations! A really long wait for you but worth it because the Seneca without black pack looks stunning. My colour too and maybe next month according to Lotus but I'll believe that when I actually see it. Enjoy the car and we look forward to hearing your impressions of it in due course.

    Further delays?

If the prioritised LHD parts for Europe and China can also be used for building US spec cars, then you may be fortunate and not experience further delays. Meanwhile, the UK depositers' dates just keep sliding further away. I'll be very surprised if the December build January delivery actually...

Emiras advertised for sale on other sites

I'm sure that Geely only bought Lotus because they needed a brand and it was cheap (£180m for 49.9% of Proton and 51% of Lotus). They tried to buy a controlling stake in Aston Martin this year, forcing Lawrence Stroll to increase his holding to prevent losing control of the company. Having...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

Regardless of whether the Emira is an amazing car and an absolute bargain at the price, it still has to be the right car for each of us to spend £80k, particularly if intending to keep it long term. Depending on what you're looking for the Exige seems a good bet, not quite as fast as a Nomad...

The off topic Porsche discussion thread

3.8 or 4L Spyders are very nice. Problem is that Porsches are very common, two a penny around here. The Emira will be relatively exclusive, for a while.

    Suspension: Touring and Sports options

As @TomE said, active was pioneered in F1 by Lotus, in 1983. If I recall correctly, Mansell had it when we went to Long Beach that year and it was very difficult to drive because there was no feel, as opposed to the normal coil springs and shock absorbers. By 1992, Williams had developed the...
