You are allowed exclamation marks on US reg plates? I never knew that. Are you allowed other characters like ? I guess if they can make money off it anything would be allowed - emoticons coming soon...

Sounds like an hallucination brought on by Emira withdrawal syndrome - you'd better get your's back from the shop soon....

    📓 Journals kitkat's Emira

There's way more to it that just wheel weights too. The saving on wheel weight is unspring mass so it affects the momentum in the suspension usually a positive affect in responsiveness (usually more meaningful the the change in rotational momentum which is negatable against the weight of the...

Who has Milltek's Active Controller Installed?

I have the Milltek. It stays in the mode I last left it in, even when restarting the car - so I can leave it open all the time.

    Evija - it actually exists!

Cosworth V12s cost almost as much as the Evija alone.

EVO: BMW M2 v Porsche Boxster GTS v Lotus Emira v Alpine A110 v Ford Mustang

Yeah - "twitchy" could imply either tram lining or bump steer, neither of which my Emira does (nor any others I have driven). But if the alignment is out you could definitely get either. It's just such a vague term to use, they could mean anything really.

EVO: BMW M2 v Porsche Boxster GTS v Lotus Emira v Alpine A110 v Ford Mustang

I haven't seen a review yet that explains what they mean by "twitchy". I think "twitchy" implies random, unexpected movements - what we actually have is steering that is much more communicative than a car like the Cayman - that's one of the reasons I prefered it over the Cayman on my test...

EVO: BMW M2 v Porsche Boxster GTS v Lotus Emira v Alpine A110 v Ford Mustang

Sssshh... stop it with your probably correct opinions - you are annoying us dinosaur V6 owners that stubbornly want to play with our gear knobs when driving. 😜

EVO: BMW M2 v Porsche Boxster GTS v Lotus Emira v Alpine A110 v Ford Mustang

There's an awful lot of people biased against the Emira due to Lotus's poor handling of the Emira launch/delivery, quality control and the poor customer service not just for owners but for prospective buyers, dealers, reviewers and the press. Such a shame for probably one of the best cars Lotus...

    Finally…..I give up!

That's sad to hear but I think you have been more than reasonable here. I hope it does all get sorted out in the end - what a shame that your experience with what should have been a fantastic car has turned into this.

Emira Lightweight Alloy Forged Wheels by Aerie Performance

Is that is due to you ordering custom offsets? I ordered some standard wheels from Aerie a couple of weeks ago. I was hoping I would have them in their quoted 5-7 weeks delivery time.

    Paint blistering issue update

Sorry to hear that, so this was a April 2025 car with the issue then? Good news it is getting sorted under warranty. Any pictures? Which dealer is doing the work? Also be sure to post up here how it all goes please - it'll help others with the same problem, myself included.

What did you do to your Emira today?

Lotus Drivers Club Essex Breakfast Meet at Barleylands - this morning. It was nice to meet everyone and some nice looking Lotus there, although I had to scoot off early. Four Emiras there I think among the Elises, Exiges, one Evora and one Elan I think.

    Dashcam hardwire

OK following up my last post I finally got the passenger footwell fusebox cover back in place properly. I am 99% sure it wasn't fitted properly before. But what a pain to get back in, I never want to do that again - if I blow a fuse and need to change it now I'll probably just sell the car and...

    Dashcam hardwire

OK - I'm trying to get the passenger footwell panel back in place and failing. I'd been noticing a rattle over bumps from the passenger footwell so I investigated. I found all 4 of the panel retaining bolts loose, I assume these were what was rattling. I took them out and removed the panel to...

Doing oil change - what else while I'm doing that

The toes link sets the toe on your rear tyres, how much they point out or in from the side/centre of the car (just a few degrees off straight ahead). They do rotate around the bushing to allow the suspension to move up and down. Just check there is little play in the link, that it is firmly...

Burning Smell From Engine While Reversing on Ramp

Just thinking if you are new to a manual transmission and this is the first time you've ridden on the clutch like this - then you must be a pretty fast learner.

Burning Smell From Engine While Reversing on Ramp

It'll be the clutch - it really stinks doesn't it - like burning rubber and plastic. Almost certainly not, you've just taken a few miles of the life-time of the clutch pads - they are a disposable item and that's what they are there for.

    Luggage for Behind-Seat Shelf

It's both. I'm traveling through several countries in Europe and live in the UK. I now have for my Emira: Electronic registration toll - Dart Charge - for crossing payment for the Dartford Bridge and Tunnel, UK Electronic registration - ULEZ - for showing this is a green vehicle for driving...

EVO: BMW M2 v Porsche Boxster GTS v Lotus Emira v Alpine A110 v Ford Mustang

Not sure what you are saying here? That's not what I was saying at all. In neither an Emira or a Cayman will you suddenly find yourself on the wrong side of the road - unless there's something seriously wrong with the car - or you fell asleep  . Both cars have very precise steering...

    Steering Wheel Oscillating

Yes, you are correct. My mistake, just checked i4 is hydraulic with an electric pump for pressure.

    Steering Wheel Oscillating

Sure, whatever is happening it is not right. Note that i4 steering is just electronic it's just the V6 that is electro-hydraulic.

    Steering Wheel Oscillating

... steering wheel oscillating quickly intermittently ... at [certain] speeds. Sounds an awful lot like wheels were not balanced after the tyre was replaced? Or you lost a balancing weight? Maybe worth a quick recheck at your local tyre shop? If it's a problem with the power steering it would...
