    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

One problem is, you've got to get the car serviced as well. If you call the dealer on this totally unethical BS then what kind of service and warranty support will you get from them in the future?

    Does the car scrape easily?

In standard setup, the Emira does not scrape easily compared with most sports cars. For example, my BMW 1M scrapes much more easily and so did my 997 GTS.

    Future of the Emira

Do you mean because of capacity constraints or because of limited demand? AFAIK, they are already manufacturing ~4,500 a year.

    Bad News for China Sales??

Give me a break. They will still be selling ICE cars in the USA for the next 5-10 years. Can you imagine if they then told people they couldn't drive their almost new cars. Never going to happen.

Paint blistering on the Rear Quarter Panel...!!! Am I the first??

The root cause is still not clear to me. There are several possibilities: 1. Moist air is getting trapped in the resin during Teijin Automotive's compression-molding process. This would be a manufacturing fault, though it could potentially be addressed if Lotus bakes the panels before...

Lotus stock ( LOT ) given a thumbs down today on Barron's Roundtable financial show

My bet is that weak sales and slow delivery of Electre and Emeya is the fundamental problem. Emira doesn't even factor in this. Lotus Technology is being spruiked as a luxury EV brand and Lotus Motors isn't part of the initial SPAC (they have an option to acquire it).

Who has actually had issues with the Emira?

11 trips! Jesus. I'd be furious.

Is Vivid Red too "Ferrari" looking?

If it's the color you love then choose it, but accept that you will get people asking about your Ferrari and you will probably get a bit of the "couldn't you afford the real thing?" stuff too. In certain countries, there's a stigma attached to brands like Ferrari or Lambo . . some people will...

No, it doesn't (but that is Magma Red, not Vivid Red).

    Paint

I wouldn't rush your decision. Out of the thousands of Emiras now built, there have only been paint bubble issues on a handful and they were almost all very early production cars.

Ditto. Almost at the one year mark, several thousand km driven, no issues at all.

📓 Journals Diaries of the first Lotus Emira picked up from Hethel - V6 FE - yellow / ice / silver / sport

That sucks, sorry to hear it. You seem to have been exceptionally unlucky with your Emira, and I wonder if this was partly because yours was one of the earliest cars — you were a bit of a guinea pig for the rest of us. I feel almost guilty saying that I've had mine for about six months and...

Lotus to cut 200 jobs as a result of disappointing 2022 sales and £145m losses

Yes and No. Remember, Lotus Motors is not part of the Lotus Technology SPAC (though they have an option to acquire it later and worldwide rights to distribute its cars). The NASDAQ-listed Lotus business will be 100% luxury EV, but they've allowed deliberate flexibility for Lotus Motors to...

Lotus to cut 200 jobs as a result of disappointing 2022 sales and £145m losses

How do you tell which suspension a car has?

Window stickers (also called Moroney stickers) are an American thing. They were created by an act of Congress in 1958 to stop dealers from inflating the MSRP and lying about the size of the discount they were offering to consumers. I'm not aware of any other countries that provide them.

Theres no emira on display in the London showroom.

Probably just rotating out the vehicles. Emira will be back in a couple of days. Sometimes a banana is just a banana, not everything has to have meaning.

    Is this a leather defect?

Yes, agree. I wondered whether the circles are glue delaminating underneath or something similar. I actually quite like the grain.

    Is this a leather defect?

Here's another photo of my passenger door trim. Hopefully you can see the very high amount of grain and the circular areas along the bottom edge. Does everyone else have "perfect leather trim" or does anyone else have these kind of variations?

    Is this a leather defect?

The leather trim along the top of my driver's door (second photo) is very even and consistent and wouldn't look out a place in a Porsche. But the trim on my passenger door is much more grainy and "textured" and has at least two visible circular areas where it looks like the grain has been...

    Lotus Emira De-badged

I don't mind a logo or even the brand name like Lotus or Porsche, but I've never understood why we want our cars to be covered in information like the specific model name, its engine size, the trim level, the fact it has a turbo charger and other detail. It's just marketing and pure social...
