Just picked up my car after the hvac tsb has been performed. A/C works as expected, the dealer - the Lotus of North Jersey - told me they are not delivering cars anymore unless the diaper (their term) is installed.

Got a call from the dealership - the canister has been shipped from the UK, it might take up to two weeks to get it here and installed. Fingers crossed I’ll have my car back before the summer is over….

Still no update on the charcoal canister. I was advised by the SA if I pickup the car do not drive it as the fuel in the canister presents a fire hazard. I wonder if I do pick it up will they have me sign any form of a disclaimer. TBH, it’s been quite a frustrating experience so far…

Got an update from my SA. The pressure valve has arrived, there is no word on the charcoal canister yet. I’m hoping to hear about it today/tomorrow. If it’s confirmed that the canister is on a back order I will take the car back and bring it back when the parts arrive.

Argh, I’m not looking forward to that conversation with my SA. If they won’t release the car until the parts are in I will have “lemon law”hover over my mind…

I called the service department and was told they are waiting on Lotus to provide them with an ETA for the charcoal canister. I will update as I hear more from the dealer.

I will find out more tomorrow, if the EVAP issue gets into a month long delay I’m taking my car back to enjoy it with a CEL until the parts are in.

Dropped the car off at the service. The check engine light is due to a bad charcoal canister. Of course this morning the was blowing cool air since the start…. The service advisor ensured me the resistor pack will be replaced along with the charcoal canister and EVAP valves. No ETA

I just dropped of my car at the Lotus of NJ service to get the resistor pack replaced and address a check engine light (the charcoal canister is bad). They have quite a few cars in the show room, and upstairs at the Smythe Volvo next door.

Congrats! I see you got a new car inspection sticker that expires in 2 years (the same with me) - I think they screwed up, NJ state does not require an inspection of the new vehicles for the first 5 years. I will be at the dealer in the morning to get my car fixed and will raise this issue as well.

My car is affected by the air con issue, and now it has a check engine light on with less than 50 miles on odometer. I have an appointment for service for tomorrow, I will let you all know how that goes. The car is an FE1.0 lower 1500’s serial.
