I thinks it's the marketing strategy. There is no V6 version in China. How to differentiate between the FE and base version. Apart from the interior and exterior , HP is the only thing that matters. It's easy for LOTUS engineer to squeeze extra 40HP.No to metion whether the 400HP is the output...

I think your speculation makes sense. There is still one thing I can't understand:Why LOTUS stop supplying the previous models when the new model comes out. :unsure: It seems LOTUS cut down it's fleet.

LOTUS confirmed the FE I4 will be 400HP. However, no one knows how much actual horsepower on the wheel.

I have no choice, only I4 version in China. I wish I could have a manual V6. SAD.

I think it's a big confusion that LOTUS make the manual version no stripe. Personlay I prefer a steering wheel without such a stripe, because if there is any deviation make the stripe not at the very middle of the upper part of the steering wheel, or the car doesn't go straight even if I aim...

Personlay, I consider alcantara and lether are the same premium material. It's a personal preference or custom to choose. For me, lether steering wheel and alcantara seats with lether seat sides are perfect. :) Just like the car I drive.

Surely, you could wear gloves to protect the alcantara streeing wheel, but not everyone loves to wear gloves. ;)

According to some of my friends, the ideal situation is that LOTUS release a base model with all the FE configs optional. So they can choose to have or not to have these gadgets (heating seats, LOTUS foot mat, storage net， etc.) . Learning the trick of "starting from XXX" from Porsche, if LOTUS...

The FE of I4 has no LSD either.

Personally， I consider the price of FE is reasonable, because it is the TOP config with 400HP. The quality of this product is not worse than 718S.Why a lot of people compare the TOP config Emira with the base model 718?

You are a lucky guy, because all 3 types will be released in the UK. You are free to choose, not to mention the prices between V6 and I4 are not big difference. For some markets, no choice. :giggle:

Personaly, I would be confused why LOTUS choose to have 2 totally different engines for Emira. It's rare for any manufacturer. I even can't find the 2nd car that has 2 different original engines. SORRY,I may ignorant about soprtscars!;)
