    The inevitable faster Emira

Totally. I've been looking at the weight of an Alpine a110 at 1100kg and cant understand how the Emira is 350kg heavier so started looking into weight savings. Like you said, too much cost.

    The inevitable faster Emira

I had this in the car I test drove and also mine. Don't seem to have the problem anymore. Maybe I just got used to the shift timing.

    The inevitable faster Emira

How many miles have you on your cars? My gearbox seems pretty slick after 4k miles.

    The inevitable faster Emira

I think the car needs less weight rather than more power. Seats, doors, rear hatch are pretty heavy.

    Lowered My Emira

I'm on touring now but thinking of going the same setup as you. Would be great to have a more indepth review once your had a change to drive with comparision to standard. There seems to be little info out there in terms of Emira suspension setup.

Aftermarket suspension for nefarious EU roads

Maybe the Emira is not the car for you if you find the suspension too bumpy. The touring setup is already quite soft. The only way to get more comfort is to get softer springs. I’m not sure if it’s an option but maybe worth contacting Nitron to see if they will sell a set of their 1 way shocks...

    V6 Gearbox Backlash?

No, gear backlash. When on an off throttle there is a small amount of play in the gears in first gear.

    V6 Gearbox Backlash?

I’m trying to figure out if I have a problem or not so asking has anyone with a V6 manual got much gearbox backlash in first gear at low speed when going on and off throttle? I’m hearing a clicking sound from the gears on/off throttle from the backlash.

Audio thread- to KEF or not to KEF?

I wouldn’t say that. I removed the panel on mine to try to find a rattle. Used a plastic pry tool from eBay and it came off quite easily.

    Creaking noise

Hi Andrea. Did your fix stop the knocking sound at the end of the steering lock or is this still here? My car has the knocking sound at the end. I've heard this is normal but not sure. I've also a creaking noise that happening when I am steering and going over uneven orad surfaces.

Audio thread- to KEF or not to KEF?

This is most likey the air vent flapping and not the sub clipping. I've fix my vent and added some sound deadening and the bass is solid to max volume

    Lumbar supports not working?

Ok. Took the seat back apart. There are two air bladders on top of each other so both inflation buttons will move out the same area which is pointless. I positioned one bladder upside down and higher up the seat (circled red) and put a plastic panel (not pictured) behind it just like the lower...

    Climate control problems

:-(( I thought the fault was about the air randomly blowing hot and cold rather than 1x vent blowing colder. Looks like I’ll have to book it in. I think I already had the fix (rubber mat) while in for my last service too.

    Lumbar supports not working?

Hmmm, it seems the lumbar support is meant to be adjustable up and down according to the manual. Maybe another common fault?!

    Lumbar supports not working?

Hi. I’ve been playing around with the lumbar supports in my seats but the 4x way lumbar buttons only seem to adjust 2x ways - two of the buttons inflate the same spot, two of the buttons deflate the same spot. This is the same in both of my seats. Is this normal?

I had the same tyres on my GR Yaris and they were done after 3k miles. No tracking driving.

    Sports/Touring, more differences?

So I read an article earlier today (can't remember the source, I think it was one of the Emira Facebook groups) with an interview from a Lotus employee and they said that it's not just different spring and damper settings for the sports/touring chassis, but also different bushings and geometry...

Audio thread- to KEF or not to KEF?

Not that I know of. I've attached an image of the type of vent that is in there. The vent flaps move with very little pressure and if you stop them from moving you're likely to stop fresh air getting into the cabin. I opened up access to the sub area and played bassy music, then figured out...

Audio thread- to KEF or not to KEF?

Like others have siad the system needs to break in. Mine was much better after using for around 1k miles of driving. Also, there is a cabin vent just beside the sub which is likely the source of the distortion and not the actual speaker. You need to sort this out or any other sub will result in...

Lotus to cut up to 200 jobs in the UK

I have no idea on the numbers but for the survival of the brand it's probably best they reuse their other Geely developed EV platforms as much as possible to keep costs down and maximise profit and sales. Hopefully with a steady income then they can keep pushing development money into the type...

Anyone planning on driving their Emira through winter?

I had a look under my front undertray and the worst corrosion is around the front hubs/knuckles and hardware.
