    Red fighter button starter upgrade???

Careful. The service manual is misleading on this (as it is with quite a few things) Post in thread 'Shift Knob Replacement' https://www.emiraforum.com/threads/shift-knob-replacement.2412/post-94196

Emira OE exhaust with Miltek active valve controller

Doing it DIY by yourself is nigh-on impossible. If you have a lift and an extra pair of hands I think it’s do-able but a pita. One needs to unbolt the silencer and hold it to the rear while the other wriggles the cat forwards to separate it from the silencer. There is very little wriggle room...

    V6 v i4 - 3 year servicing cost.

Part of the “Transition from Sports Car Company to Premium Lifestyle Brand” (I think I’ve got the quote correct - check with the marketing department) All those interpretative dancers don’t come cheap you know.

    Where has the cover gone?!

My fix - drill some holes on the underside for a small cable tie. This is only to stop it falling down as I don’t use the little panel. It much gives much better access to pop off the whole front cover, which is nearly as easily removed as the little one.

    Oil temperature and pressure reading?

    I was agreeing with you.

    Oil temperature and pressure reading?

All good theory but, as there definitely wasn’t an engine oil temp/pressure sensor on the Evora, why would Lotus fit one to the Emira and then go to the trouble of hiding it? I’m working on the assumption that there isn’t one, and I don’t expect to be proven wrong.

    Oil temperature and pressure reading?

Auto Gearbox temp maybe. These are the available (green) and not available (red) PIDs my car shows.

    Oil temperature and pressure reading?

It did have one (sort of). If you connected an OBD reader the water temps in degrees were there, so there was a proper sensor installed. Lotus chose not to display them in the dash. Just a icon that was blue when cold / off when normal / red when hot. Very strange decision. At least they’ve...

    Oil temperature and pressure reading?

Yep. They would. Not there. The Evora was the same. Bizarre. Not even hidden in the OBD data so there are no sensors. Presume the oil warning light is a simple level sensor??

    Where has the cover gone?!

Ah, but if you weigh more than 50kg you will have voided your warranty by getting into the boot!

    Where has the cover gone?!

Down behind the engine probably. Be a test of your gymnastic ability to get it out! That panel is quite fiddly to engage so I normally don’t bother and just pop off the whole front cover to check the oil.

Bonnet warning icon and alarm - any suggestions?

Here’s a closer pic of mine. As you can see, no sensor switch.

Bonnet warning icon and alarm - any suggestions?

I stand corrected. Didn’t see that in the service notes. But, as you can plainly see from my photo, there isn’t one fitted to my car. 🤷‍♂️

    V6 Particulate filter

Well, not “quite a bit”. It’s not night and day different. Kinda hard to tell without a back to back comparison, especially from inside the car.

    V6 Particulate filter

There is no OPF or GPF filter. Milltek should know better, but they have confused everyone by describing their pipe as a “OPF bypass”. It is very definitely a catalytic converter that gets changed. Ask me how I know…

Emira Issues - from final production cars

While we’re on the subject of windscreens, having had a crack in mine was actually a blessing in disguise. The original factory fitted screen was so badly fitted it was leaking. I had noticed some water in the vin window that I had put down to condensation but it actually was water leaking...

Yep, I had them but they’re crap. eg: it says to “connect the aerials before bonding the screen” which is pretty much impossible.

Emira Issues - from final production cars

Don’t be afraid to issue egg-sucking instructions! The fitters don’t want to do it twice! I know my local chaps quite well as I’ve been there a lot over the last 6 months! They said they would do a fitting guide for the Emira to put on their system but…

Bonnet warning icon and alarm - any suggestions?

Interesting because there is no bonnet sensor. Not on mine anyway. You can see the bracket where one might go, but there’s nothing there. It looks like it might have been an option, or a change of plan, as there are also 3 rubber locators that serve no purpose as the bonnet is bolted in...

Emira Issues - from final production cars

It’s probably my fault sorry. I’ve used up the stock. Mine has just been replaced properly, but I’ve been through four screens with Autoglass. Took six months in total! The actual fitting of the glass is very straightforward, but the dab aerial connector got broken twice (which scraps the...

    New Emira Configurator!

No worries. I was slightly annoyed they changed from the old 10-point spline bolts. They were semi anti-theft in that an opportunistic wheel thief was unlikely to have an adaptor in their pocket. Now we have to have the breakage-prone coded anti-theft things. Progress, eh!

    “Stay on” time

The “safety” pedal is the clutch in the manual, brake in the auto. One press is enough to start the car with the pedal pressed. I did wonder if this was part of the spluttering starting problems we sometimes get. The car starts straight from “off” with no fuel pump priming, etc. In the...

Emiras still being built with twisted seatbelts?

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a comfort thing. The B-pillar mount is too high (it was in the Evora too) and non-adjustable. Maybe for regulatory reasons?? I had untwisted my belts because they looked “wrong”, but after experimenting with twisted/untwisted both for me and Mrs KJD, who...

Based on Evora etc, what standard features in FE do we think will cost additional on the base model?

Everything on the “additionally included on the FE” list. Including the visible gearchange, as someone was recently told.
