    More details for KEF Audio

During my initial Emira test drive, I found the kef audio system thin and lacking with fm radio on first impression. Trying out the system in my Emira with android auto / spotify, it sounded pretty damn good. Decent clarity, midrange and bass at city speeds. I was fairly impressed and have...

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Picked up my car. I'm overwhelmed and over the moon. Driving it made me feel like a mix of Batman and James Bond. Excited to share my experiences and impressions as an owner. Also excited to hear from other owners. I can feel the energy on this forum shift as customer deliveries finally ramp...

one less Emira on the road RIP

Driver was going way too fast. Took off like a bat out of hell on a slick surface. Stayed in the throttle as the turbo spooled and lost traction. I've been there too. RWD cars have to be treated with care!

    USA/Canada Delivery Thread

Got my gift in the mail and it's a very nice gesture!! I'm excited to read the book. Plus the key chain is pretty cool and the hat will get some use. It's beyond what I expected. I'm not upset over delays and they have my good will. Too many issues will change that however....

I'm out - the cancellations thread

It's the light, unfiltered sensation.... It's responses are quick and responsive to the driver's desires. Every fraction that you actuate the controls, it responds accordingly, with direct feedback between the driver's inputs and vehicle's output. It's a mechanical, analog, sensitive, unassisted...

I'm out - the cancellations thread

This sentiment is the exact reason I never proclaimed "I'M OUT" before dramatically storming off despite the routine aggravation. The Emira sport is simply the best driving car I've ever encountered by a mile and the closest thing I've felt to a motorcycle on 4 wheels, with out of this world...

Emira drag race- off the line like a stabbed rat

This argument is valid when launching any vehicle. All Launch control systems and high rpm launches are abusive and they mask turbo lag. This is why the 5-60 acceleration figure is so important.

Emira drag race- off the line like a stabbed rat

Extremely pleased with the Emira's 4.1 sec 0-60 and 12.6 quarter mile @ 111 mph. The detractors are going to be upset over numbers that quick....

How bad will the Emira depreciation be?

Used sports car prices in the US are insane. Most makers have left the ICE sports car market resulting in the supply declining at a rate much faster than demand. The Emira's low production volume and the elevated used pricing of Evoras, Esprits and exiges currently on sale bodes well for the...

Why did Lotus not equip the Emira with a front bumper camera ?

Front bumper / 360 camera would have been a cool feature, but it would add additional cost and complexity. The front sight line over the hood is spectacular and the dimensions are compact so it seems superfluous.

The great big "all the customer test drives" thread

A more fitting comparison to the rawness of the Evora GT would be the Emira sport, as the Emira sport is noticeably more raw / engaging than the Emira touring. Also, the Emira has larger front wheels and a greater contact patch than the Evora, which would dilute the transient responses even if...

    Dizzee Rascal wants an Emira!

Good to see Dizzee Rascal after so long! Took me back to 2008. Dizzee / Tinie Tempah deserved more success in the US and would of had it with proper distribution. Respect to the UK pioneers.

I don't get the I4 - what is the target audience?

The M139 is used in transverse and longitudinal applications. The same will apply to the M139L. I'd take the a modern turbo Cadillac 16 over either of those options....

I don't get the I4 - what is the target audience?

Well that didn't take long. 2023 C43 to receive M139L paired with 48 volt system. That one was free, I'll have to charge for the next prediction though. 🤣🤣. https://www.edmunds.com/car-news/2023-mercedes-amg-c-43-first-look-not-so-mild-hybrid.html

I don't get the I4 - what is the target audience?

I'm clairvoyant. There will be an M139L that is not fully hybridized. This is the debut application and other configurations will follow.
  28. Lotus64

I don't get the I4 - what is the target audience?

Your're referring to the AWD fully hybridized Verision in the C63. That application has an electric motor and two speed gearbox. It's a 400 volt system. A 48 volt system or similar would be appropriate for a mild hybrid version of the M139 in the Emira's application and would be considerably...

I don't get the I4 - what is the target audience?

How would a new fuel injection system and electric turbocharger make it not fit? Edit: a high voltage system is required as well yet those don't weigh very much or include much additional hardware. And even if that version never comes, the 420hp tuned M139 will be a huge step up.
  30. Lotus64

I don't get the I4 - what is the target audience?

There's no replacement for displacement; however the title of this thread is unnecessarily negative. The I4 still has its place in the line up and will be a great drive, regardless of the V6. And the prospect of rowdier I4 versions is very exciting, especially the M139L.

    Emira Review Index [I4 FE]

More observations of turbo lag in the Emira I4. Inconsistent / delayed thrrotle response are big reasons to get the V6. "Despite their proximity on paper, this second Emira variant possesses a very different personality. The AMG engine has huge muscle but feels less sophisticated than the...

    Everyday Driver Review - Emira/Cayman GTS/C8

It's a sports car. Fun / dynamics are the main draw.... The Emira is a bit more special than the cayman. More dramatic looks and driving engagement. I respect the cayman, but it's out of its element against the Emira, barring the GT versions which are still less engaging.
  37. Lotus64

    Everyday Driver Review - Emira/Cayman GTS/C8

I agree that the cayman isn't that special. The Emira will go down in history as one of the greatest cars of all time. A rare instant classic.

    Real 0-60

The advertised 0-60 of 4.3 is exactly accurate if multiple reports have confirmed 4.4-4.5. Can't wait for the uproar when C&D achieves 4.0. The Emira has no peer on the market and as a result the haters are lashing out to pacify and justify themselves. You're doing something right when haters...

Suitable car for teenager for track and road use

Seeing the thread title immediately conjured the GTI. However reading the first post made me think BRZ. But if it were my daughter, she's getting a CX5. It's safer and still drives like a hot hatch. An Elise feels excessive for a teenager. Very few kids have put in the kind of work to...
