Pretty sure he is referencing performance and raw race car feeling. The Emira is softer and less performance based GT car. That is why they sold more not because it performs better.

The difference is how each company responds to the problems. One will handle and stand behind the their brand and one will not. Worlds apart unfortunately.

I get that and I was on that same boat. I guess I was ok with mechanical problems but I’m not comfortable with paint peeling. I hope it does not happen to any new cars.

Can anyone answer this question. Why has Lotus not offered any type of explanation of the paint problem and if they have resolved the issue. I do not understand how people keep buying the Emira with no official acknowledgment of the problem by Lotus or confirmation that the problem is resolved...

The car delivery was delayed three years. They have had three extra years to sort out the problems. If that was not enough time to sort out things do not count on it ever happening.

I love how people are talking about sloshing around water proofing in the interior door panels of their 100k car like it’s okay 🤔

Overwhelming praise? Hardly. The reviews have not been overly positive. I would say the build, electrical, and paint issues will hurt sales badly. Not taking in to account the terrible Lotus customer service.

I have decided to stick with my GT3 and will not be taking delivery of my Nimbus order. The dealer said I can get my deposit back when they sell it. I was locked in at the first price. MSRP $95380. I do not know what the dealer is asking yet. I sent a email to find out. Delivery confirmed this...

Ha ok that’s probably not very reliable but hope it’s true. It’s really the only issue giving me pause. Hopefully all the new owners will wash their cars a bunch so the rest of us know if the issue is resolved😁 knowing this is a past issue with previous lotus models is not a good sign though.

Oh boy here we go! All the problems Europe had are starting here. Hope I’m wrong but doesn’t look like it. Hoping my delivery is delayed more to see how many more problems pop up. 😳 Maybe a North American problem thread is on order. It would help keep them together for reference.

I do agree the GTR is a snooze fest. I bought one new and it was fun for 3 months and a beast at the track but I got bored with it quickly. It is the car that made me swear off flappy paddles for life! Manual or nothing for me. So I would take the Emira over almost all exotics.

I respect your opinion but most people will not agree with you. The GTR you mentioned will destroy the Emira on the track along with the other cars. It’s ok the Emira is its own unique car that is analog and fun to drive. It does not need to be a super car to have value.

Sorry I love the Emira but is not in the same league as the cars you listed. It shouldn’t be because they all cost atleast double the Emira. Not same league in cost or performance but it does win the looks contest in my book.

i would absolutely wrap high risk locations. The rear haunches and hood will get hammered. If I was buying a used car I would take the one with PPF and no chips every time over the same car with a bunch of rock chips. You get a return on the up front investment when you sale.

Ok sorry when Porter said Porsche it was pretty general. I do agree EMIRA is a sexier car but it is more like a GT car.

Someone posted that Lotus did not ship non CARB state cars yet. Apparently they have shipped some. It would be based on where the car is registered not where you purchased. I guess you are the lucky one.

To OP did I read one of your posts that said you live in MN? I was just curios because MN is a CARB state and was wondering how you got your car so early?
