    Love the peculiarities..

Since the engine oil cooler is a heat exhanger with the engine coolant, the engine oil and engine coolant should be the same temp. When the engine oil is cool, the coolant gives up heat to the oil, when the oil is hot, it gives up heat to the coolant.. the coolant is maintained at ~200F by the...

GRP decat pipe and Milltek Valve Controller

Not taking advatage of having the rear diffuser off and doing both upgrades at the same time is a huge mistake, unless you're really not looking to spend the extra money on one of the parts. The removal and install of the rear diffuser alone is worth doing this job once and being done. The cat...

I4 HP and torque, 472 torque reading?

Why would anyone believe what the display says in the first place? And "seat of the pants"? Ehhhh, I dunno about that. Just drive it and enjoy.....those performance screens are a bunch of fluff to impress a misinformed passenger, no driver would ever give em a glance.

    KEF System Casual Analysis

Surely appreciate this analysis, however the end result is what we already know, the KEF system is crap. Missing front tweeters, underpowered sub, and sub-par door speakers with a unique mount --- but thankfully we don't listen to the stereo much, instead we prefer the engine noise :)

    Headlight Adjustment

FWIW, I totally agree with both posts above, but have found that since the Emira is such a low car, no one has ever flashed me when keeping high beams on all the time. Not the best solutiion, but if no one is complaining, why not.

GRP decat pipe and Milltek Valve Controller

There's no need to start the car in sport mode with the Millteck VC, if the valves are left open (in last position mode) then the car will sound the same in touring or sport. The only difference you'll ever hear is from sport to track when the car increases RPM a touch at idle. If you haven't...

    Help - rear diffuser

The u clips are not attached to the diffuser, they're attached to the part of the undercarriage the diffuser attaches too. If you bend the u clip the bolt will likely never thread back in -- the easiest thing to do is replace them. I had a similar issue when I did mine, having two that refused...

Redline Reviews: "The 2025 Lotus Emira 2.0T Is A Superlative Driver's Car With A Stonking Motor From AMG"

That review was weak -- he had many of the car features inaccurately described & the car looked like hell, blah. Not to mention that giddie laugh. Fail.

    Access to Engine Bay?

I'd consider the reverse -- mount it in the engine compartment and run the wiring underneath back to the front (if needed) Power is available in the engine bay, so keep it simple...wireless on/off and you're all set.

DIY: V6 Manual 1st, 2nd & Reverse Adjustment - Hard To Get Into Gear

@kitkat I'm at about 3K miles on my car and drive it like it's meant to be driven -- I have the GRP short shift installed (set in as received position) and like it very much -- the single complaint I have with my car is the shift from 1st to 2nd, no matter the RPM. It's a 2 step process --...

    $1149$ Oil change price

It's too easy not to it do yourself anyway. Some folks have the impression it's a dealer must do service however there's lots of us that can prove that wrong. I know you were just asking them to quote the work... just sharing why I don't even ask.

    Members from the Carolinas

I attended cars and coffee (Morrisville, NC) yesterday -- I had such a great time talking to Lotus enthusiasts and on lookers, the car received much more attention than I would've expected....I even snagged a request for an invite only car show in Cary this June.

Anyone going to C&C Morrisville or Wilson NC tomorrow 4/5/25? I'm bebating between the two -- Morrisville I've been to so many times, but it's farliy close to home and I have lots to do afterward -- Wilson is at a car dealership -- a much loniger drive (but I don't mind) and I like a brewery...

    3.5 V6 oil leak -- help?

It shouldn't happen...and worse, it's really hard to see a weeping leak with the fullly enclosed belly pan -- if it were to be any worse, the car would be stranded wherever it let loose.....there's a lot riding on a simple o-ring.

    3.5 V6 oil leak -- help?

I finallly got a chance to get the car back in the air and take another look -- for sure the oil leak was still present -- GRP had sent me a gasket and 2 o-rings -- I assumed from the way it was leaking it was the left most oil pipe, and not the base gasket --I removed the bolt seen in the...

Ok wow, I'm impressed. Xpel Ultimate Fusion

My front bumper most definitely stayed in place for PPF, the only part that was opened was the front hood -- makes it much easier to do the air vents properly.

Ok wow, I'm impressed. Xpel Ultimate Fusion

For the last 2k miles I used an orbital buffer routinely on my car polishing out swirls from washing it....then I said enough was enough and went with the PPF. I never noticed any issue with the paint, no color ever on the pad, and no surface imperfection after polishing. PPF installer didn't...

Ok wow, I'm impressed. Xpel Ultimate Fusion

Mine did on both sides -- it's something my installer said we could improve if I didn't like it. I suspect it's everyone using a similar ppf template set.

Ok wow, I'm impressed. Xpel Ultimate Fusion

Looks great -- one benefit of using Xpel Ultimate Fusion PPF is the inclusion of the hydrophobic topcoat - you shouldn't need to continually reapply a ceramic sealant, but I imagine it couldn't hurt!

    KEF now a £1000 option!

IMO the Kef in my FE is one of the worst stereo systems I've heard -- my 1/2 price Jeep wrangler from 2019 is sadly much, much better.

Ok wow, I'm impressed. Xpel Ultimate Fusion

I doubt wet sanding is necessary, mine was just paint corrected (polished) priro to ppf.

Ok wow, I'm impressed. Xpel Ultimate Fusion

Had the car full ppf'd this past week using Xpel Ultimate Fusion (hydrophobic topcoat - like ceramic in the film) -- the car looks really really good! I also used this opportunity to change out the chrome Lotus lettering to the GRP supplied black letters. Nice!
