Lotus Emeya - EV hyper-GT coming soon

Great news to see another Lotus plan coming to fruition. But has anyone asked Lotus Cars (and got a sensible answer) about how it proposes to support the huge global installed fleet it is threatening to accumulate if sales claims are based on the truth?

New Lotus Flagship Store in London…( Coming Soon!) /s

I hear that the London Showroom should be getting an Evija back on display next month (but not a Fittipaldi). They have merchandise now but as of last weekend still no payment mechanism - another example of Lotus literally not letting its customers give them money!

Interesting post on other forum regarding borrowed parts

I don't understand why Lotus didn't just stick with the Morris Marina door handles and Rover SD1 tail-light clusters :)

Does it seem smaller than a 911?

Emira has same wheel base as Evora, as far as I'm aware. And Evora was a 2+2 like 911. Harry M also did some analysis of weight distribution and said it was more comparable with 911 than Boxster/Cayman (ie further aft than latter, IIRC). Here's another pic with a 911 (997)...

What's everyone's placeholder given this long wait??

Confirmation of Hethel’s secret Emira Spider project perhaps?

Lotus unveils Type 66 track car at Monterey Car Week

This has been a long-running project under the new Advanced Performance division (headed by Simon Lane) - basically Hethel’s version of AMG. And Classic Team Lotus is very much involved in the 66. While the optics might not be great in the current environment of cutbacks, delays etc, I still...

Lotus unveils Type 66 track car at Monterey Car Week

The stillborn Lotus Type 66 has been ‘reimagined’ as a £1m track car, powered by an 830bhp “period-representative” V8, tuned by Lotus. Carbonfibre body and redesigned floor produces 800kg of downforce at 150mph. 0-60mph in under 3s and a top speed approaching 200mph. Motorsport mag...

📓 Journals People's reaction to your Emira

I had a reaction that made me chuckle last night. Trundling down a residential road (40mph limit) in sport mode, an oldish looking resident walking out of his driveway cast me what I thought was a critical look for the noise/speed (I was accelerating but well within legal limit!) - but instead...

Yes - front cover floating as it has the aero cut-out to aid brake cooling. Rear attached to wheel as it is predominantly for drag reduction

JB's bespoke Evija to debut at Monterrey Car Week

For colour-scheme comparative purposes, one of my pics from the 2009 British GP of JB's Brawn BGP 001, which was probably the most "unsponsored" F1 car to win the World Championship since the commercial Grand Prix era began (with Team Lotus) in late 1960s

    Emira vs McLaren 570s

Interesting to hear how the two UK sportscars compare dynamically. This is my DV with the even more expensive 720S at Bremont recently - Hethel certainly holds its own over Woking, looks wise!
