He ordered the same day as me back in July 2021 too. So crazy.. Should just cancelled or moved his deposit to the new Lotus of Philly that opened while we were waiting. Woulda been much closer and you know.. also here by now. 😡
This is truly a terrible incident with shocking footage of it all. I've driven over this bridge many times and have many co-workers in the Baltimore area. Thankfully everyone I know is safe and sound. In my comic book and video game mind, I always envision the Avengers and Spider-man swinging...
So frustrating! Maybe the sensor needs to be calibrated? You'd think the installer would have gotten this done properly.
Somewhat related - I had my GTI's windshield replaced a couple years ago and they used aftermarket glass. The auto wipers work still, but my rear view mirror is about an inch...
Every single thing that's happened with UK order and ownership experience these past few years has and will continue to happen to North American vehicles. From delay communications to initial bugs and issues. They may have software updates available but the communication from Lotus UK and Geely...
I'll be in Costa Rica and staying far away from screens that last week of April, but I'll be sure to join the next one. Thanks for setting this up. Great chatting with everyone last night! 🤙🏼🦥 🏝️
It may be less expensive, but I've heard horror stories about Lotus windshield replacements in the past. Sometimes taking many months to source one.
This was one of my biggest fears.. taking delivery and then having a rock crack the windshield on the way home and being unable to get it through...
I really doubt it... but following this thread for confirmation. I can't even find a part number for the oem glass. Maybe one of our resident sleuths can.... @kitkat @Porter??
Agreed! I see a Lotus in the wild maybe 2-3 times a year (not counting C&C meets or track days). I posted some more interesting production number stats here:
The visible light transmission (VLT) of the privacy glass is 24.5%.
The tailgate glass lets in 6% UV light and the rear three quarter windows allow 7.1% UV.

Welcome to the forum @tvacc! The Glen is such a great track and I was lucky enough to get my Evora GT on it last year. I may reach out about this event.
Wow, yeah, that's a no go for me too. I drive and travel with my car as much as possible! Imagine overlooking that stipulation and trying to file a claim just to be denied because it was parked overnight at a resort or hotel somewhere. 🤯
I'd say price (initial cost and maintenance) and driver engagement. Not many supercars are offered with a manual transmission or hydraulic steering these days. The Emira also has the supercar looks and one of the most beautiful vehicles made right now.
If the poor customer communication throughout the past ~2.5 years is any indication, I think it's pretty obvious who is to blame. Lotus could barely compose an email. There was also a job posting at Hethel for a Principal Engineer Type Approval (Emissions) during Q4 2023.
Some folks have installed them on Evoras with good results. They do what they're advertised to do, but it is a good bit of work to disassemble the strut/spring assembly to install the lowering cups. Some opt to just go with aftermarket coilovers since they're easier to swap and dial in without...
I think you mean the 718 Spyder RS (vs the GT4RS)..?
The Spyder is a fantastic car. The only thing I don't like is the manual soft top. It's so tedious and silly on a car that price. They do look awesome though!
