I have a set of Michelin alpin winters - went with same size as summers on different rims. I live in Ontario, Canada. Mainly for cold weather grip, not as much about snow bite. I dont drive it in snow, end up snow plowing and getting stuck. Mostly for driving on cold crisp clear days. Works great, last winter sucked in Feb, but I got to drive it probably 3 months more than I would have without the winter set.
I couldn't find the smaller rear tyre sizes so went with the standard size and I got
Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4
Front 235/35 20 XL
Rear 295/30 20 XL
I haven't fitted them yet - I have them now as I found a good price. Will be fitting them in a couple of months before a road trip around Scandinavia. They have the 3PMSF marking that is needed in some European countries for winter driving.
