I agree (speculation from a questionable source). The Emira is a world car and subject to broad emission regulations including emissions taxes). It makes no sense to spec a car solely to US tastes. Selling less of a higher-end product against formidable market competition isn't a winning...
Hard not to see where this is headed. This either kills the Emira in two years or belies the death of the turbo 4 which gets battery assist. Life wil be different for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Per my v6 MT service today:
CEM is Central Electronic Module & VDDM is Vehicle Dynamics Domain Master.
I have no additional info, but those updates resolved Drive Mode access beyond Touring.
Also, see my post about Drive Mode selection issue. I was limited to Touring for some reason. The solution involved a Vehicle Dynamics Domain Master software update (among 4 other official software updates for 2025).
I was told the Emira limits itself to Touring Mode when other issues exist...
Issue update: 5 software updates were performed by Dealer, two which involved Central Electronic module and Vehicle Dynamics Domain Master.
I suspect the latter was the culprit. Problem solved!
Advice to Forum members: stay current with software updates!
Interesting/dismal Emira sales versus prior years. This was always a niche enthusiast car and early adopters had their needs met. Silver lining? Exclusivity & Collectible Status.
Incredibly informative and interesting. I still feel the US market is different (with similarities). Love it, buy it, enjoy it for the engagement but view it in emotional not financial terms. Thanks for sharing.
