Test drives in Vancouver

I'm sure that all of you that have a deposit in Vancouver got their invite to the test drives this week!
They are running them from May 23rd to 27th, I have a slot booked for Thursday at 1.30pm - it will be the first time I see the car in the flesh, never mind drive it lol.

They will also have the cars at the Cars and Coffee at Britannia beach May 27th.

My scheduled test drive is tomorrow afternoon. However I picked up the flu over the weekend, so I might have to bail if I don’t feel better by then. Sucks to be me!

Yeah, it's a good point, you guys would definitely have more. Calgary was sitting at ~50 orders back in Nov 2021.

In any case I reached out to my dealer and they said in-person event hopefully in 2 weeks!

For sure, it's been a long time coming! I'm sure it'll be great, though. The Emira will be my first sports car (and first new car purchase, for that matter), so I imagine I'm pretty easy to please at this stage. Haha

I'll be driving up from WA to see it at Cars and Coffee on Saturday because I really want to see Nimbus in real life. Enjoy your test drive! Mine was 7 months ago when it was wet and cold and I've almost forgotten what it was like... consider me envious now that the weather is perfect.

Went for the passenger test drive this afternoon at Spanish Banks. The lotus rep said the wait list is now at approximately 180 now. In fact, after the Throttle House and Chris Harris reviews on Youtube came out, they had multiple deposits come in every day!

Interesting note: Lotus Vancouver will stop accepting deposits sometimes in summer of 2024. This is because of the current backlog and the Emira end production date scheduled for 2028 (?). Not sure if I heard the last part correctly, but definitely there is plan in place to stop taking deposits. Have not confirmed this with the sales manager Arthur. I will ask him the next time to confirm.

For sure, it's been a long time coming! I'm sure it'll be great, though. The Emira will be my first sports car (and first new car purchase, for that matter), so I imagine I'm pretty easy to please at this stage. Haha

I am not being your parent here but make a list on your phone of all the things you want to look at, questions, and driving expectations. When I did my test drive I was so excited I really couldn't remember any points I wanted to check out. You may have more time than expected or less with the car. Good luck and can't wait to hear your impressions!

looks like the Stanley Park

It was at Spanish Banks. They had 1 car and I had my test drive, car is much more beautiful in the flesh, well put together on the inside, the doors thunked closed and overall impression is of a quality made car. The car felt about the same off the line as my current car, so about 4 sec to 100kph, but handled WAY better lol (Current car is a Velar SVAD). Overall, I am impressed and will be maintaining my deposit, and the friend I brought will likely also be placing a deposit.

I had the same impression when I saw the car at the British Car Show at VanDusen last weekend. Car is aggressive and wrapped like a jet fighter. Good size too. Much better looking in person than in photos.

And that's saying something, because in photos it looks pretty much better than anything with 4 wheels!

Do you recall what suspension and tire the test car had? I asked but I forgot now.

I was told it was the Touring suspension. It felt pretty compliant for me - I will be going for the sport suspension.
