So I’m out for a wee-hours no-traffic joyride, coming up on my one year anniversary, when my daughter (enthusiast in her own right), noticing I don’t have the KEF on and knowing I’m an audiophile, asks how I like it, and I realize for the first time that given this awesome car is my completely immersive physical, mental, and aural escape every time I drive it, I’ve never had it on. Ever. Must say, cool revelation for both of us.

You will be very disappointed. It’s terrible. Evora GT Alpine head / speakers unit when set up properly with time alignment and parametric EQ blows it out of the water.

I imagine so.
And at the risk of veering off topic, I think the analogue JBL L 100’s and Marantz 2270 I have beat most anything out there in home audio.

The KEF components are actually quite good. The "fresh air" sub is where the system falls apart. Not sure why they put that piece of garbage in there.

I think you nailed it. I noticed it doesn't handle well under some higher bass or sub music. I will look to see if it can be replaced with something better.

Agree that the best way to enjoy the car is to not use the KEF system. Unless you like audio that can't outpower road noise and sounds like the voices are coming from you knees (tweeter location)
