Similar to Throttle House: Lotus Emira V6 First Edition Road Test: The most fun for $100,000 Are these aberrations or the start of what will be a common theme? Time will tell.
All models on display except the emira at the Piccadilly showroom opposite the Ritz in London. Just walked past an hour ago. What's their strategy, is the emira making a loss for lotus or something?
Interesting / farcical if true Must admit I'm a little out the loop.. My deposit was day after reveal on 7/7/21 and after learning a year ago it would be summer 2023 for the AMG I bailed Given it was early to place a deposit would it really have ended up summer 2024?! Yes it's pretty.. but cmon Lotus you're supposed to be taking people like me away from Ze Germans and you've f*cked this so badly https://www.pistonheads.com/news/ph-britishcars/official-emira-four-pot-deliveries-pushed-back/47978
It’s been a long time coming. First batch unloaded in Baltimore last night. Pic: Stephen Burke at Lotus Cars USA
Print edition of December 2023 Car & Driver has a road report on the Emira by Sam Smith. He wrung it out on North Carolina Rt. 209 (called the Rattler). His takeaway: The Emira is an old school Lotus, so we're fans. Digital version not yet available. See attachments.
I'm surprised no one has posted about this yet, and that Lotus appear to have done no PR to publicise it. The world dealer map hasn't even been updated! A new Lotus dealer has been appointed in Salt Lake City, Utah. Salt Lake City Motorcars have added Lotus to existing franchises for Bentley, Lamborghini and Pininfarina. As well as selling new Emiras and Electres, they will be selling used Lotus cars and have Lotus-trained technicians for servicing current and previous models. It looks like they had one of the touring demo Emiras for a few days last week, plus the Type 66. They signed up with Lotus in August and had done a "soft launch" in early September, so already had about 40 Emira deposit holders before the demo car arrived...
Spotted this in yesterday’s newspaper
Those of you who have been on the forum for a while will be familiar with my original Emira paintings. While I am still not in a position to produce prints (current blocker is a licensing issue as the images of the cars include the trademarked Lotus badge, apparently), I have been invited to exhibit the originals at this prestigious event, which, I have to say, I am well chuffed about! These are all in acrylics on box canvas 36" x 36" (915mm x 915mm). The exhibition is in London, full details here: https://www.theartofmotoring.co.uk - if you wish you can click "artists" then scroll down until you see my profile (look for the Lancia 037 image). Info also here https://www.instagram.com/theartofmotoringlondon/ and my on my own instagram...
New handbook version now on the Lotus Cars UK website - dated May 2023 - as well as updated V6 manual and auto stuff it includes the i4 variant, ADAS functionality (although LCCS are still saying NO ADAS on i4 FE) the hidden hole for the CarPlay cable and also references an Emira mobile app (coming soon.....?):) It confirms i4 unladen weight at 1455kg against V6 manual at 1493kg and V6 Auto at 1500kg so a 38kg saving i4 Vs V6 manual and 45kg saving i4 against V6 auto. Fuel consumption and emissions figures for the i4 are missing though.... https://www.lotuscars.com/en-GB/emira-handbook
