Japan - Emira Ownership (エミーラ納車とその後)

After this weekend trip I opened the glove compartment and I found this: the dealer had "installed" the ETC module using double-sided tape, which doesn't really work on the fabric-like surfaces there.

Any suggestions on how to attach it securely? I though about velcro, but I don't think it would work on this surface...

You may want to check to see if there is a bracket stuck to the top of the glovebox. Mine has a bracket screwed to the car, and the ETC unit clips onto it along with double sided adhesive.

I had mine installed at my dealer.
You should consult with the place where you had it installed.

Next I am considering putting a Magcode power port for CTEK next to the rear view camera.
This could be easily done by removing the rear bumper, but we are investigating ways to do it without removing the rear bumper.

We are also considering a digital inner mirror.

But when will we get a parts list for the Emira?

I'm doing the same.

I'm mounting mine in one of the square recesses behind the rear number plate.

I have mounted the number plate on a synthetic piano hinge (at the top) so you lift it to expose the magcode socket and it snaps shut with a couple of magnets, hiding the socket when not in use.

Hinged plate done, yet to fit the Magcode socket.

I checked and there's no bracket. Just the double-sided tape attached to the top of the glove compartment. The ETC unit was provided by the dealer. I just checked the box and there isn't a bracket there.

I'll let them know so when I bring the car in to get the AC unit fixed they will also take care of this.

I had mine installed at my dealer.
You should consult with the place where you had it installed.
Mine was done by the dealer too (Lotus Yokohama). They provided the unit and did the installation during pre-delivery.

I'll talk to them about this.
 
I've been informed by my dealer that my Emira2.0 will be manufactured and shipped to Japan in e/May. Most probably my car will arrive in e/July. After going thru custom clearance/PDI, the car will be delivered to my dealer sometime in Aug. I hope I can take the car in Sep! if any unexpected issue!

I'd love to. I just completed the break-in yesterday (30% on the expressway, the rest on national roads and city streets) and it would be nice to take the car out on a tour somewhere interesting.
I was thinking about the Hokuriku area (Ishikawa, Toyama) which is about 300km from Tokyo, so not too far (but not close by any means). Maybe in mid-late October (to allow the i4 owners to get acquainted with their cars)? Cup2s will be inappropriate any later than that.

ツーリングの候補地として北陸 (石川県・富山県) はどうでしょう?東京から 300km 程度の距離、ちょうどいい感じかな?10月中旬~下旬であれば i4 車の皆さんの車もドライバーも慣らしが終わっているタイミングなのでは。それより後は積雪・凍結の心配があるのでタイミング的にはこの辺りが限界かと。

I like this idea. I don't mind the distance because I enjoy long drives (driving relaxes me). And if it takes too long I will just drive there the day before and spend the night at a hotel or a ryokan.

Count on me for this one.

After seeing the posts in the Driver seat issue thread, I thought I'd do it even if my seat leather isn't cracking yet.
別スレを見てからシートの皮がプラスチックと擦れる部分が気になり夜も眠れなくなってしまったので予防のため対策してみました。

Got this online. Would have preferred silicon but couldn't find any in black. I specifically looked for something with a round edge, and enough space inside so that the rubber doesn't squeeze itself out. If I were to do it again, I would look for something a bit narrower than 18mm; perhaps 15mm or so.
尼で「縁ゴム」を購入。色落ちが心配なのでシリコン素材のものを探したが見つからず。あとのこだわりポイントは丸みを帯びた形状であることと十分な溝幅のあること。高さはもう少し細くてもよかったかな、15mm ぐらいとか。

Only needed on the outside (door side) as there is no plastic rubbing the leather on the inside (center console side) of the seats. Trim the edges a bit, fit, and you're done!
センターコンソール側にはこのようなプラスチックの枠がないので、対策はドア側のみで OK。両端を少し整形して取り付けるだけ!
だいぶ余りました... 今度お会いすることがあればお分けしますよ。
