So my Emira is in for a major audio upgrade.

First job was to strip out the interior and they have found the driver side floor area wet where they have removed the carpet.

Will be speaking to Lotus about this but just wondering if anyone has had similar issue!?

Could it just be a little condensation between floor pan and carpet!? Where could water be coming in?

This area will be having Skinz sound deadening applied to it but I feel I need to know what caused this damp before going any further.

Last week it had that driver’s side door replaced due to bubbling - maybe they jet washed it during this process but the floor area shouldn’t have become wet surely!?

Anyone have any ideas?

On a more constructive note, talk to your dealership to see what may have happened, involving water, when they replaced the driver side door. It sounds like that's in the works. It seems too coincidental, that they replaced the door and you're then left with water on that side/area. If you're going to take the car in for the dealership to look at this, make sure to photograph what's there (as you've no doubt done): but both the floor area and the carpet, if not too late (both sides of the carpet), since the carpet "water staining" could provide some telltale clues, about water movement. And I'd check the replacement door alignment for any unusual gaps, around its edge.

It the dealer is no help (either on the phone denying any wrong doing, or after looking at the car), then dry everything thoroughly, both the carpet and floor area. Reassemble everything and after that:

1. hose down or (preferably) power wash the exterior of the car, as you normally would when washing it. Check periodically to see if any water infiltration.
2. if none, consider opening up your front hood/bonnet, to again wash in that area and then again check, to see if any water infiltration in the driver side footwell area.
3. Operate your A/C to see if there's some weird leak from that system.
4. if none of that results in repeat water, perhaps you're OK and despite the dealer saying otherwise, they did indeed do something to cause that initial water, when doing the door replacement. My 2 cents and I invite any other solutions from others. Good luck!
