I was just quoted $750 for the first service which I believe is only an oil change. Is this a fair price? Anyone else got quotes or able to share their cost for a first service in Canada?

Not Canada, but was quoted about $850. Found a local shop and was quoted $250, and all they work on is exotics. I currently don't need warranty work so we will see.

Local Toyota dealership in Alberta changes the oil for $250.

I know I need software updates so I guess I need to go with a dealer. The closest one to me is Quebec City. Perhaps I should check with the local Toyota dealer for an oil change.

My first service after 1 year / 5000km at Lotus of Vancouver was $590 + taxes

My Alberta dealer quoted $537 + tax, for the first service, including the oil/filter change: $321 labour and $215.91 parts (plus tax on top). To change the brake fluid for track use: $189 and $45 parts (plus tax on top) and they'd include the track mechanical inspection report as part of all that. The second/next service suggests a brake fluid change, along with some other filters.

So as others have indicated, $750 is high, although the OP doesn't mention if that includes tax and I know taxes in Quebec are higher than Alberta's 5%.

Thanks for the details. The quote is $750 plus tax. Trouble is the next closest dealer is Montreal.

Is it worth getting another quote given the extra 500kms distance and 4 hours travel time (total there and back) to save maybe $200? I guess maybe not. I thought about the service distance when I ordered the car but now that I am actually looking at booking it its becoming a pain for sure.

$750 is reasonable compared to here in Australia, was quoted $1300 Aus, $1163 Canadian. 2nd service around $1700Aus😳
Using an independent for second with warranty still remaining.
As others have said, it’s a Toyota engine so not exotic.

Mine will be due for 1 year service this fall. What’s pricing like for Gentry or Oakville here in Toronto?

I am not sure what they charge. I bought from Oakville but that is an overnight trip for me so not ideal. Would be interested to know what they charge though.

I did mine for under $100. Everything is available on Amazon. You really do need to raise the car on the air to facilitate the job.
