Skating sound

Hello everyone


I’ve got a 2022 V6 UK Emira with just 7k miles purchased today . When pulling away in gear, I can hear a smooth metallic noise up until 2k rpm, almost like a dry bearing rolling around. The sound is still there even with the AC switched off, but present only she. Pulling away. It’s a bit irritating and definitely sounds like a bearing but perhaps just normal ? It’s not loud enough to get on film

OMG how did they pass this off, I remember my Nissan 350z done similar but only when out of gear, I suppose knowing it’s normal makes it less of an issue but wow that’s terrible and I class myself as quite an easy going person but this is irritating

My thoughts exactly. The gearbox is by far the worst thing about the car.

I gotta believe this varies from car to car, mine only hints at this noise at very, very low RPM and then totally absent at (what I consider) normal/healthy driving rpms. Wife's Aston V8 Vantage also has this sound at very low RPM. Just never bothered me but if it was happening above 2k rpm then I guess it might get old.

It disappears above 2K. I’ve driven 4 V6 Manuals and they’ve all done it.

I don't hear much from my gearbox either. But it is hard for me to hear much of anything over the valvetrain clatter.
