Thanks for sharing! Great video so far.. Love those shots from the ring too. Looks like a blast! Congratulations.

What a great trip and video! I’m sure there will be many more to memorable trips to come after this one!

Nice video! I'm impressed with the quality of the headlights. They look like they light up the road in a nice, clean and even field of light. The Ring footage was nice; the car looks right at home there. What suspension do you have, tour or sport?

79 years ago, men from all the allied nations landed on this beach and others, to put an end to Adolph Hitler and his National Socialist Party, or Nazi's as they're commonly known. You walked on hallowed ground.

What a memorable trip.

What an amazing way to enjoy a new car! Great video and thanks for taking us along!

Great trip and highly enjoyable video. I always prefer actual owner provided videos over the auto journalists. There is a greater sense of authenticity in the commentary. Your trip also brought back some great memories for me of my time living in France many years ago. I brought my 1983 Corvette with me (check out my personalized plate in the photo) and enjoyed many a road trip throughout Europe, including Normandy. Kind of wish Lotus would allow buyers from the U.S. to take Hethel delivery, as I would seriously consider it for another Euro tour.

What a memorable trip.
We visited Thiepval as well. In fact the in whole trip the world wars were never far from the surface. Hethel of course had an RAF base. Mercedes and Porsche that we both visited their respective museums played their part in the war effort. All along with the above.

Sport chassis with Cup2s. I’ve found it to be a lot more compliant than I expected on broken and uneven back roads.

It was superb on the ring and inspired total confidence.

Excellent video! Agree with others, great to hear from actual owners. The car looks stunning in that launch spec. I went for the same, but with an ice grey interior. Question: your seats looked like they had yellow stitching, but I didn't see that in the steering wheel. Is the Alcantara steering wheel just all black?

In hindsight, are you happy you went with an Alcantara steering wheel instead of leather? I also noticed no privacy glass, can you talk about that decision?

I opted for leather steering wheel and really wondering if I should see if Lotus would let me change? I also opted for privacy glass, curious if you were able to see the differences while picking up your car at the factory.

Thanks!

Great questions @LotusB.

Frustratingly, the alcantara wheel isn't offered with yellow stitching, despite press photos (renders no doubt) clearly showing yellow stitching on the wheel. I did ask but it was a no, might be offered later who knows.

Absolutely, I love the feel of an alcantara wheel. My GT4 (981) had one as well, just great even if hands are sweaty after a few minutes of opposite lock/LSD workout :D

On a separate, and slightly more serious note, I really didn't know how I would feel about the flat top/bottom wheel but absolutely no issues at all, and on the straight ahead I can clearly see the instrument pack, unlike Matt Farah!

I also noticed no privacy glass, can you talk about that decision?
I don't understand why you would want to hide that striking supercharger cover and shiny valve behind tinted glass. Also in a small cabin with dark headlining, it needs as much light transmission as possible. In my humble.

I didn't look in detail at the privacy cars, although in fairness it did look well with dark verdant, making the whole car look very dark and moody.

These issues are first world problems and all the car, spec and colour combinations hover in and around the awesome mark.

Contrast stitching is available for the alcantara steering wheel on the V6 Auto and i4. It's not available on the V6 Manual - the wheel doesn't have gearchange paddles and comes from a different supplier. I know, it makes no sense from a customer standpoint!

FYI, check out @Gizmo750 's aftermarket yellow stitching modification on their Emira's Alcantara steering wheel! :)
